Rating: Summary: somewhat helpbut, but also annoying Review: Although the book provides some useful information about color, composition, and difficult subjects, the author's premise throughout the book--that if you follow her advice, you will make beautiful paintings--is misleading. The book shows "problem" paintings followed by "solution" paintings. Unfortunately, many of the "problem" painting are purposely painted to look they were done by a 12 year old, while the "solution" paintings are painted by talented artists. Simply following the author's advice will not change the problem paintings into works of art. It would have been helpful if the author HAD demonstrated just what it is that separates amatuerish paintings from good ones. Her book doesn't do that.
