Rating: Summary: Good for beginners Review: This is a good book for beginners. It talks about the fundamentals for scenic painting: equipment, techniques, and terminology. It gives examples of how to paint brick, stone, foliage, drapes, wood, marble, cornice molding as well as higlights and shadow. It also touches upon griding and perspective. The drawbacks of this book are: ALL of the examples are shown in black and white and the examples are rarely on the same page as the text that refers to them. This book only covers the basics. If you are learning to do scenic painting this is for you. If you have done scenic painting and need a reference book this isn't the book you need.
