Summary: Excellent Research...need more Poster examples.
Review: Excellent text research, I rate that 5 stars. There are not enough examples of artists work. Certainly this printing (3rd) does a balancing act of not becoming strictly an artist bio, it does cover the political/social also. Too much black and white and positioning of posters within the text is difficult. Some of the very dramatic posters are illustrated very small within the text while rather ineffectual mundane works are given full pages. Some are pages away from the reference. This book needs to be expanded in another edition, I would gladly pay more for a hardcover, coffee table sized tome with MORE posters illustrated. Yes this is certainly one of the more in-depth poster books available that does not succumb to being just a "picture" book with no reference. Overall an excellent work. Buy it, you won't be sorry...
