Review: Ordering this book taught me a valuable lesson: take note of the SIZE of the book before buying. This book is so small that it fits in the palm of your hand. Some people might find this "cute", but it makes the book very difficult to read (particularly near the spine). The author, Christopher Tadgell, has written a number of brilliant works, but this little volume has so little space that it can only scratch the barest surface of the Chinese architectural tradition.
