Rating: Summary: Insightful, opens perceptions Review: Reading through this book really hepled me to see the importance of well thought-out design. Alan Fletcher's grasp of communicative design is amazing. This book will inspire any graphic designer at any level.
Rating: Summary: beware bad design Review: the more time I spent with this book, the more I had a distaste for Fletchers designs. While insightful about his career, his best designs were done with Crosby, Fletcher, Forbes, and the book focuses on designs that fail to challenge the design world. I have respect for a lot of the work he has done, but the work in this book fails to be more than primary colors, cut paper, tossed-off pencil sketches supplemented by brief, semi-enlightening captions.
