Rating: Summary: Lots of Inspiration, But Not Much How-To Detail Review: I would say this is a worthwhile book if you are looking for pictures of made-over yards and decks. There are very few "before" pictures and not a lot of detail on how to achieve the results. The process is explained, from planning on paper to renovating walks, concrete stoops, garden beds and plantings. Examples of various projects are shown in photographs and described in some detail. Pruning and moving shrubs and trees are shown. There is not a lot of specific information about plants. There is a very brief discussion of water features. This book is a good place to start the process, but unless you already have construction and horticultural skills, you will need additional information to actually complete a project.

Rating: Summary: If You need a whole new renovation read this book Review: If your yard looks like a mess this book tells you how to fix it. It is really not bad and works well. what else can you say
Rating: Summary: Sadly Disappointed Review: The book's write up sounds exactly what I was looking for, ideas on updating existing landscapes. Needless to say I was disappointed. There was nothing new that a gardener would not have already have read in Southern Living or Country Home Gardens magazines. Its fine for a glance at Barnes and Noble with a cup of coffee, but don't waste your money taking it home.

Rating: Summary: Your old garden needs a facelift and you need advice. Review: You have overgrown plants, a cracked walkway, a too-small patio, and woods that look like a jungle. This book's for you. Whether you're looking for a quick fix or an entire makeover, I give you advice on how to pick which plants to keep and which ones to send to the compost pile. You'll learn how and when to transplant, ways to cover over an ugly front stoop, and the best way to add on to a deck. Step-by-step photos of taking down small trees, changing the shape of planting beds, and rebuilding your front walk reduce the fear of doing it yourself and empower you to speak intelligently with a contractor if you hire someone to do the work. Before and after photos bring the words to life. All gardens have a life span and when renovation is due, The Landscape Makeover Book is a must-have reference.
