Summary: Uniquely beautiful
Review: I am amazed at the blend of innocence, mixed with raw sexuality. The photo's in this book are purely artisitic. I am not one who follows the style of the young women depicted, yet I possess an eye for talent. The photo's are truly a celebration of the body as the most intriquing art form. Timeless!

Summary: Fun, but not as fun as the site.
Review: I've been a member of SG for a long time and I'm really glad to be able to say that the book captures the essence of the models' portion of the site. The community aspect of SG is its main draw for me, but I can't help appreciating Missy's excellent photography, the beauty of the models, and the way they choose to represent themselves.

Summary: SG on your Coffee Table
Review: I've been a member of SG.com since January this year. Its an excellent site with some amazing photos and people on it. This book is a good exhibit of the site.

I brought it for my friend as her birthday present, but am seriously considering buying another one for myself.

The photos that have been selected show how well SG is done. There's nothing sleazy about this book (or the site) and I'd say its not even pornographic. The girls personalities come across in the photos and the interviews/journal snippets in the 2nd half of the book just go to show these are your everyday girls showing how beuatiful they are.

Go buy it. Put it on your coffee table and let the conservations start.

Summary: Even better in print!
Review: I've been looking forward to the SuicideGirls book for months now. When I finally got my copy I was pleasantly surprised at how good the pictures look in print. The quality is first-rate, with beautiful colors, nice shiny glossy pages, and a sturdy binding that seems worth much more than the super-cheap price. The book is divided into two sections: the first is pictures that Missy Suicide shot of the SuicideGirls and the second is self-portraits and profiles done by the girls themselves. If you like the SuicideGirls website, or even if you know nothing about the site but like beautiful pin-up photography of unique women, this book is for you!

Summary: mah-velous dah-ling!
Review: ive been a fan of SG.com for a while, and just recently became a member. about a month after i joined, this book came out, and i bought it right away!

the pictures of the women are so beautiful, and getting to read excerpts from the womens' journals gives you insight to what the girls are like: intelligent, witty, humorous, and fun.

i also appreciated seeing interview questions outside of "what are your turn ons?". its artistic, gorgeous, and smart.

two thumbs up says me.

Summary: An eye-opening presentation
Review: Missy Sicide founded SuicideGirls as a place where a woman can be herself and define her creativity: SuicideGirls is erotica and personal style, and her book provides a visual exploration of this newfound erotica, a growing community of women and men alike. Not for general library lending, SuicideGirls is a specialty item of erotic photos of pierced, tattooed contemporary young women: as a specialty gift for the holidays it will make an eye-opening presentation for a special person in a couple.

Summary: sg=goodstuff
Review: The self titled book "Suicide Girls" Explores Females, Photography and the internet.
Suicide girls are all one of a kind, punk-rock and pin-up alternative girls with no inhibitions and lots of sass!
the book is literally filled with glossy pages of photo's of the sg's and also has a section filled with thoughts on the website, their photosets and on being a suicide girl.
One of the most difinitive Sg's, Mary is on the cover of the book.
All in all it's a great buy for photography fans, art fans, portrait fans and generally fans of punk/alternative/goth girls.

Summary: Nude Vamps & Vixens
Review: The SuicideGirls book is indicative of a new style of erotic photography emerging in society, changing the face of art, pin-up modeling, and modern-day softcore porn moguls such as Playboy.

Filled with pages of glamorous nude and semi-nude portraits, the models depicted are sensual, playful women, empowered by their sexuality. Atypical of most erotic photography, the SuicideGirls models are pierced, tattooed, dyed, taped, shaved, chained and otherwise exemplify an aesthetic born out of the alternative underground scene.

The book is prefaced with an introduction by Missy Suicide, the photographer for the book, and details the inspiration that made the book, the photographs, and the related website spring to life. The first 100 pages document Missy's photographic efforts, showcasing some of her more captivating shots from her work over the years. The last 50 pages feature stats written by the girls themselves, accompanied by self-portraits and journal entries showing off the diverse personalities and nationalities inherent in the book.

As an artist, I find the beauty of the SuicideGirls breathtaking, and find it difficult not to whip out a sketchpad every time I see the photographs. I recommend this book to anyone who appreciates female sexuality and nude art--you're sure not to be disappointed by the revolution that is the SuicideGirls.
