Rating: Summary: A treat for any dog lover; a must for the Labophile Review: 101 Uses for a Lab is a picture book, consisting of photos and short captions which describe some of the myriad ways in which dogs - specifically Labrador Bring-It-Back-Dogs - and humans interact. The book is short and to the point. Each of the photographs (more than 101 of them) stands on its own as an artistic endeavor, and lovingly displays one aspect or another of the character of the Labrador Retriever. Even those portraits which highlight the darker canine virtues will bring a loving smile to the knowledgeable reader's face. This is a book about dogs who love people, photographed and written by someone who loves dogs. If you have a Lab, you desperately need this book. You also need "Just Labs," by the same author. Buy more than one copy: you'll need several for gifts.
Rating: Summary: Not as humorous as I expected Review: Being a lab owner, I bought this book as a gift for another lab owner, and was quite disappointed when I received it. It's still a cute book, but I didn't find it to be nearly as funny as I thought it would be.
Rating: Summary: If you love labs, you'll love all 101 pages! Review: Every lab owner can relate to this one and will probably see a little bit of the one they love in each picture.
Rating: Summary: Anyone who owns a Lab will love this book! Review: Fantastic photography; clever titles. Great stocking stuffer for a Lab owner!
Rating: Summary: Four paws up! Review: For all you lab lovers out there, this is a must have. If you're not a lab lover, this one just may convert you!
Rating: Summary: love of labs Review: For anyone who has loved and lost a Lab, this witty work is a wonderful reminder of the joy they bring and encourages one to go and get another one. The pleasure of their company is worth 1000 times the sorrow of their loss and this delightful book is a summary of such joy. Our Ralph Kramden, better known as Ralphie Poo died Nov. 23, 1998. His cousin, Jack B. Nimble, was born Jan. 26, 1999 and joined our family seven weeks later.
Rating: Summary: ... hmmm ... ? Review: Having read the previous reviews, I'd expected to find little text, but had thought the photographs would prove sufficient ... unfortunately the photos are a little disappointing ... more like snap shots taken to fill up pages ...
Rating: Summary: Save your money!! Review: I have several other Lab books for about the same price as this one. This is a little book for the price but the pictures are very cute. I would have rather bought it used, it would be a much better bargin. Enjoy!
Rating: Summary: Cute pictures in a little book Review: I have several other Lab books for about the same price as this one. This is a little book for the price but the pictures are very cute. I would have rather bought it used, it would be a much better bargin. Enjoy!
Rating: Summary: I laughed, cried and know why I will always own a Lab. Review: I received this book for my birthday from my sister who also owns a Lab. We both know that our 'girls' really own us and always will. The pictures tell the story for all of us who love the breed. Labs aren't dogs, they're more like people with all their funny, endearing characteristics that runs true in each one of them. Each photo reminded me of a similar activity or antic my own dog has done and I have bought two more copies to give to friends. It's a wonderful treasure and 'must have' for Lab lovers.
