Summary: A waste of time
Review: Again what other readers have said, you will learn nothing from this book, I felt like I was reading a diary, I was looking for more technical information, the pictures themselves quickly got boring after a while, how many half cut torso and zoomed in hands do I want to see anyway? There's some reportage quality to the pictures bit there are better books out there I'm sure, don't be fooled by the nice front cover, there's a reason why this book only has 4 sample pages

Summary: Excellent text on sensitive wedding photography
Review: Barbara Box wrote and illustrated a wonderful book on sensitive wedding photography. Her keen eye captured moments overlooked by most wedding photographers. Her images are priceless glimpses into the "true" events on a wedding day. This book is inspirational and should be a part of every wedding photographers collection.

Summary: Bad bad
Review: Barbra Box did write a book that was laid out nicely, and easy to follow. The book did have a strategy, a goal and purpose, and to that end it was successful. However, it really didn't say much. The quality of information was sparse, and tended to repeat itself over and over again. For example, it made the point of needing a fast camera with indexed metering at least five times. The wedding photography style was described close to the end of the book, along with explanation of equipment. It would have been better at the front of the book.
It took a while, but she finally described her style as photojournalistic. I appreciate good photojournalism, but her style is simplistic and repetitive. The majority of the photographs were close up images of hands, and parts of dresses, and wedding accessories. While there were a few really good images, and a good justifation for tilting the camera to enhance composition, a lot of the images looked like snap shots. Her choice of a very high speed film (Kodak TMZ 3200) made for a lot of images that were very grainy, with poor tonal values. There were a lot of examples of images taken in the bridal room that showed people with darkened eye sockets. Not flattering in my opinion.
To the extent that a person can pick up this book and say "Hey, I can do that too" the book was successful. But what to do with the boatload of the resulting B&W images wasn't explained well. They showed a sample album which the majority of the final images were color that her husband took. What I would have found useful was to know how to sell them as a premium item? Do people buy stand alone images of these for framing? If so, how do you present it?
Overall, this book needed a wider variety of style, more of her better photographs, and more concrete information.

Summary: A little extra...
Review: I like this book very much. The way of illustrate from start till the end. However, if possible, Barbara should include some info about the charges of the service. Quite a nice how-to book to read.

Summary: Don't be fooled by the nice cover
Review: That just happens to be the best picture you will find in this book, It rambles on and on about nothing and the pictures quickly get very very boring after seeing the fifth hand close-up, don't be fooled by the image and title, you learn very little "storytelling" here. Save your money and buy something else. This author may shoot weddings but she's a total amateur and snapshot artist. I hate this book

Summary: I'm returning this book IMMEDIATELY!!!
Review: The quality of printed photos are not brilliant in this book, but the book is a great one to remind you why you fell in love with black and white photographs. The details of weddings are highlighted here, and it is a good book to keep as a reference tool.
