Rating: Summary: A heavy listing Review: A very heavy book. The publisher should reduce the paper stock weight. After all, there are only B&W photos here. The index ends with "S". Also, the index headings are the same type weight as the sub-entries so you can't find anything readily. Bold type for the heading would have helped. Some Nikon items are indeed missing although they have been available for years. I also noted errors in the text descriptions of several items.
Rating: Summary: Latest Brackzo Book Review: For those of you who have poured through Peter's earlier book, the little red "Nikon Pocket Book," you've already come to understand his special code used to identify the myriad of 'things Nikon' that are out there. What we wanted, though, was an update to that book and this one certainly fulfills that wish. Gray Levett from London did a remarkable job proofing it for Peter and it's one of the most accurate books on Nikon collecting and trading that you'll ever find today. Unlike Moose Peterson's "Nikon System Handbook," which is clearly a Nikon Corporation sell manual, Peter is unbiased in his opinions of Nikon's successful and unsuccessful products. Albeit large and considerably less portable than his little red book, he's expanded his coverage substantially since 1994 when that book came out. The photography of some very rare Nikon products reflects his own collection, as well as those of many close to him who have contributed a vast archive of knowledge and imagery to make this the one stop shopping of Nikon knowledge. Peter's expertise is even more focused upon the rarer Nikon products for the European market so the book is global in scope. (In fact, this is a translation of his book that was earlier published in German). A great reference book for the Nikon nut in your household!
Rating: Summary: For all Nikon fans Review: Great layout to the book. Nikon equipment classified in a systematic easy to source manner. Loads of B&W pictures (however some colour prints would be nice). Highly recommend this book.
Rating: Summary: almost great Review: I love and hate this book. Being a Nikon lunatic, i kept seeing the book at chapters and when the price was low enough, purchased it. If you want Nikon history, it`s all there, no doubt about that. I was more interested in lens information and performance. The text reads like a nikon pamphlet and gives some information about years in production and design changes. Certain absurdities resurface on almost every page. For example, the author writes about a certain zoom that the ranges of 28-35-50-80 are indicated on the lens. So what, every nikon lens ever made has that. Why mention it on some and not others?. Clearly, the author had to fill the lines and ran out of ideas. The text reads like something very (and I mean VERY) sensured by the nikon Corporation. Even lemon lenses receive a friendly write-up. Incidently, this book is way over-priced. A great buy if you can find it for ten bucks.
Rating: Summary: what a fotographer does with this book? Review: i thought this book would be 'revisited edition' of "nikon and the nikkormat way" -book from seventies. i hoped it contains updated data of new af lenses with more backround data and sizes, measures, weigths, quality etc. -but no. book just says that 'nikon doesn't make poor lenses'. on the other hand if you collect nikon stuff this is quite good book for recognising them, with photos of different versions and more.
Rating: Summary: Great reference for online auction junkies Review: If, like me, you buy a fair bit of Nikon gear on line then this reference allows you to be more sure of what is on offer. Information on release dates and model changes is invaluable and there is a fair bit of information on compatibility. What is the correct hood for the second autofocus version of the legendary 80-200mm f2.8 Nikkor?

Rating: Summary: The Complete Nikon System: An Illustrated Equipment Guide Review: In short, this is a terrific book on Nikon. But I think it really need a more frequent update...
Rating: Summary: the best reference..... Review: The best reference for the Nikon Colector's..........La meilleur référence pour un collectionneur Nikon.
Rating: Summary: Great book - missing index after "S" Review: This book gives you tons of info in one place, a great reference. But the index missing after the letter "S" is very strange in a book you would surely be using the index a lot in!
