Wayne Williams has produced a visual feast and testament to the beauty of Nature. This book contains so many beautiful images, I felt compelled to write and reccomend it to you. I am lucky enough to live by one of nature's rain forests in the West Indies. Everyday I am filled with awe and wonder by my surroundings. This book makes me feel the same way. What also impressed me too, was his mastery of the craft and it reminded me of Ansel Adams work. They have combined technological mastery of the photographic techniquies available to them; and have produced a vision that not only speaks to the senses, but also to the heart. This is a rare combination and achievement.

The greatest and worst terrorism is the terrorism against the environment. It dwarfs all the other forms. This book may give people the vision that is an antidote.

However, these images are not from a dream, but a reality of vistas that really do exist. The subjects, their colors and composition are breathtaking - quiet and soothing. Reading the text along with enjoying his beautiful art is exciting and relaxing at the same time.

Review: There would be no question of conservation or preservation--we'd do it as naturally as we breathe. We'd finally understand the wild places of the world are far more valuable for the way they enrich our souls than the way development of them enriches corporate bank accounts. We would know, once and for all, that we live in a miraculous world, a place to be treasured and treated with the utmost care and respect. Several years ago, the site manager of the Los Angeles building where I used to work mounted art exhibitions in the lobby's small gallery space (the same space is now a copy shop...too bad). When I went to work one weekend, I noticed a new exhibition was being set up and decided to check it out during lunch on Monday. I walked in and was greeted by the most amazing photographic images I'd ever seen. I was stunned by their vivid beauty, their power, their almost living presence in that dull little space. Standing before views of places I'd never been, and others I'd visited but had never seen in quite this way, was both humbling and exalting. It's the same reaction, I think, that people are reputed to have when they first see the city of Florence, or Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel. A man came up to me and asked what I thought of the artwork, and I was literally was speechless. The man smiled and thanked me for the compliment to his work. That's how I met Wayne Williams. You're meeting him now, through this collection of his work, and I hope you get as much joy from it as I have.
