Rating: Summary: Misleading cover info or can't tell a book by its cover Review: Another review states that the CD DOES NOT have the demo version of Quark on it and I totally agree. I feel cheated, yes you can download the demo, but what even gripes me more is that the fonts for the lessons are not included, couldn't they have used fonts that are some of the regular Windows fonts.
Rating: Summary: I returned the book Review: I can't believe this- I bought the book too and the CD didn't have the Demo version. I even returned it because I felt cheated too! The book was printed near September 11th 2001 and I am very sorry for the dedication. But one would think a major publishing company might, BY NOW, realize this problem and reissue the book with the corrected CD version- apparently not! I just hope Ms. Thomas got her check before these books were bought by so many disappointed people!
Rating: Summary: CD contains only lesson files Review: While the book itself appears excellent, the CD contains only lesson files, not (as the book's backcover states) a demo version of QuarkXPress, which was the main reason I selected this guide. The demo software has to be downloaded from the Quark web site. Since I use a modem, this took some time. What should have been 5 stars gets downgraded to 3 for a misleading features list and not providing a helpful link to the missing software.
