Rating: Summary: Building creative solutions to ordinary problems Review: This book is a monograph of the works by one of London's great architectural firms - Wilkenson/Eyre. I am an admirer of their work and find they come up with very compelling designs. There are several essay in the beginning of the book that helps define the firm's design philosophy. This is followed by case studies of their many works throughout northern Europe. One of the unique things about Wilkinson/Eyre is that they are builders of great bridges. It is quite exciting to review their many creative bridge solutions that take the forms of bascule, swing, and "rotating" - the Gatehead Millenium Bridge is their masterpiece over the river Tyne. They were also the main designers behind the Chunnel project. This book is full of a ton of interesting structures for both architects and civil engineers.
