Summary: Great Idea of Universal Importance for Understanding Mankind
Review: Tribe of Women is a compendium; along the lines of a project which I had pitched to Garage.com founder, Ann Winblad and Anita Borg, now at Santa Clara, for a new "WEB" based mythographic-history, which would start out at Olompali, in Marin, and then move through time and geography within the scope of FIVE GIRLS who would daydream in school while heering of the Gold Rush in a reading of "CALIFORNIA STAR"...this aside tale, "MOUNTAIN" (1994) is a 'mirror-site' if you will, of the mind's-eye of Jane, Jean, Janine, Joan, & June; respectively: Mexican-American, Hawaiian-American, Chinese-American, Italian-American, & African-American. They are entranced by a ael from Ireland called "GREEN SWASTIKA" (1989)which motif they resemble in the New World,...Jane speaks only Welsh...Jean understands only Scotch, Janine writes Cornish, Joan reads Breton, and June sings in the Mnax language. The story is an adventure tale which again is in step with the fact that the girls are at school where Francis Drake meet the Miwok Indians in 1579, making this America's 'other Jamestown.' To further illustrate the reciprocal arrangement of history...(MARS VENUS etc...) we need only look at San Francisco's founding date: 1776! So we can see that like the Stephen Schwartz 'heresy'...perhaps American started in the WEST and headed East? Because we know California started in the North and went South! The Internet is giving us a chance to CORRECT the TEXTS! One such correction? The "Amazons" of the Montalvo's story of California were "ROYAL REFUGEES!" (Perhaps ROMANOV?) The TRIBE of WOMEN also would be a GLOBE or DOME of HISTORY in that as the patterned California Star set out in 1985 to connect earlier 'Five Girl'story which I've steadily updated every so many years from 1979, one such imitator is seen in Sailor Moon from Japan. The upshot of the story turns to Woemn's Literature in California, and gives us Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farms, which royalties created the first kindergarden for working-class in the City, and the Bohemian-Hippy life-style, starting with the Indians themselves as COMMUNE members! The most recent of a genre as seen pictorial, I found to be the National Geographic view- a goodly amount of Ethnography shown-but for school curriiculum to be used as a Web-Portal, under localization (multilingual) one must have this "Tribes of Women" as one of the ONE HUNDRED or so "CLASSICS" we want in the schools...both to combat the institutionalised race-baiting this political structure runs on-but also becuase the PUBLISHERS are themselves located in NOVATO CALIFORNIA from where I originally launched my work-in-progress, and by coincidence, the Digital High Schools (AB-64)was enacted by a neighbor and childhood classmate. That leaves only the still required Venture Capital Funding to finish the project. I highly recommend for all children; "TRIBES of WOMEN" as so explained , and for all the above reasons! We need a new ethos!
