Summary: Simple, Comprehensive, and Consistant
Review: A Very good book on the world of Glamour photography. It is simple and comprehensive in that it touches on all the major areas of Great Glamour and Nude photography. This book should give you enough information to get started and want to study more.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Canned , boring and not glamourous
Review: First, the look inside on this website is not what is in this book,
but of another edition. The photos are so simplistic and boring.
.........................................................
..... Glamour?.. Def. of Glamour: An air of compelling charm, romance, and excitement, especially when delusively alluring. ........ This book has 95% nude women, many with their legs spread open, or breasts and crotch as the focul point. Photos a
15 year old boy would take and like or for men who see only this aspect of women.

The photos are of poor quality--primarily nude women done like simple snapshots of your wife with an adequate camera. If the women were clothed you would not think much of these photos. Not artistic or glamourous at all. The technical information is weak. A bunch of photos of breasts, butts and open crotch shots.

Summary: Detailed and easy to read
Review: I am an beginner when it comes to photography. I wanted a book that had details from equipment, lighting techniques, to picking a model. Shows the picture with a description of how the equipment was arranged, and what was used. A great book at a great price.

Summary: An excellent introduction to glamour photography
Review: I found Kelly's book well written and informative. He covers all the important topics although some (such as make-up and finding locations and props) rather cursorily. I also think his presentations on equipment and on lighting are limited. He nicely emphasizes the importance of the interaction between the model and the photographer, which is essential for effective glamour work. All in all, I found it quite useful and believe it worthwhile for anyone beginning to shoot glamour; beginning photographers should start with a more basic text.

Summary: A really nice book
Review: I read this book after reading a couple of others on Glamour photography. John Kelly writes with a style that is easy to read and the images were outstanding. This book is a great reference that I am happy to own.

Summary: A great reference source!
Review: I've owned John Kelly's book now for the past year, along with a dozen other glamour photography books. I find myself constantly referring back to John's book for useful ideas on posing, lighting and other practical tips. His book successfully addresses glamour photography from the photographer's point of view. He stays away from photographic recipes and instead focuses on sharing the skills to allow the creative mind to develop their own styles and recipes. The photography within is top notch and the models are all gorgeous - no second string here. The book is broken into three main sections: the model, outdoor locations, and indoor locations. My favorite section is his in-depth coverage of the model, body types, basic makeup, and how to work with models on a professional level. I found that his outdoor location section to be excellent as well, but the indoor studio is a bit dated - as to be expected considering the date of publishing. Still, though this book is now sixteen years old, it is one of the best on the market.

Summary: Pretty Badass
Review: My main fascination with photography recently has been lighting, so before reading this book I decided to read "Lighting for Glamour Photography". I almost wish I had read this one first since it covers glamour lighting in great detail, plus a whole lot of other stuff.

I just finished reading it today, so it's still sinking in, but if you plan on taking beautiful pictures of women and taking it seriously, you pretty much have to read this book. It's a career's worth of experience in an easy to read book.

I've got to say though that some of the 80's style pictures are pretty laughable, especially the 80's sunglasses! Ironically, the author mentions how ludicrous things like sunglasses look when they go out of style!
