Summary: The Elements of Fundraising
Review: This bare bones volume is lean on hyperbole - it's like The Elements of Style for fundraising. Like Strunk & White's classic, Morrie's book should be required reading. This book isn't a grocery list of foundations or grant sources; it's a set of rules, free of anecdote, to realistically assess how to present your passion in terms that the money people understand.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A no nonsense guide to finding funding for film
Review: This book is a great resource for anyone who is looking to raise money to make films, covering the bases from individual investors, government agencies, private foundations, business and even non-profits. A MUST HAVE for the filmmaker's library - it's a great read, jam packed full of valuable advice and examples.

Summary: Great resource for all filmmakers
Review: This is a classic that every filmmaker should read. "Shaking the Money Tree" de-mystifies the biggest challenge every filmmaker faces--fundraising. It identifies various funding sources, how to ask and when to ask. More importantly, it gets behind the minds and motivations of individual funders, foundations, and other sources, so the filmmaker is better prepared meet their needs.
