Rating: Summary: Rent by Jonathon Larson Review: I have now seen Rent over 20 times, from the first time I saw it I loved it. I then bought the CD's and the book. The book is great and a must for all Rent heads.
Rating: Summary: How can anyone not own this CD? Review: I was given this CD as a freshman in High School, and I'm now in my Junior year of College. I've seen RENT 2 times and, although I usually don't get all emotional over most things, I cannot make it thru this story without at least a lump rising in my throat. Anyone who likes even one song on the soundtrack will love this book. Reading this book makes each song come alive tenfold. It's like a VH1 Behind-The-Scenes with feeling. This is a musical that will live on.
Rating: Summary: Great Book but needs a tad more glue! Review: I simply loved Larson's RENT since I had gotten the CD. As a Renthead, I HAD to have this book. With fun candid photos of the original cast and an eyepoping layout, I absolutely love it. However, my only problem is that several of the glossy pictures have started to fall out from the spine. Oh well! The book is still awesome nonetheless.
Rating: Summary: My RENT bible Review: This is an absloutly amayzing book. WHen you pick up the book you can already tell you are holding a treasure. It has tons of interviews with friends and family of Jonathan Larson. It is so interesting, I read the whole book so quickly, and am facinated even when I repeativly reread it. This book is jam-packed full of amayzing full color pictures, drawings, and notes. It also includes the whole libretto to the show. It is the bible of a RENT head. I can't tell you enough, if you love RENT you will love this book. This is such a must have!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Really good Review: This is a really good book. If only it had the origanal script in it. then it would be awesome.
Rating: Summary: A fantastic reference Review: I feel really disadvantaged as RENT has only been to my home town once on a tour. Also, books about it are really hard to get in the UK. Thank god for this book! It's brilliant! I know im never going to let it out of my sight. It's so detailed, with a biography on the original cast, the COMPLETE script, and loads of stuff about Johnathan Larson. No day like today!
Rating: Summary: A must own for RENT fans Review: I always wondered if the book was worth the money for a show I had only seen once, but after receiving it as a gift and continuing to see the show a few more times I am so appreciative of having it on my shelf. This book is far more than a program. It captures the style and excitement of the show in its layout, photos, and writings and also does a nice job of explaining the history and meaning behind the show. If you love the play, this book will help satisfy your passion for the work.
Rating: Summary: Excellent book Review: I have seen the Broadway musical (yes, on Broadway) four times. I saw it the first time in November 1996, with much of the original cast. This is an excellent musical, and very innovative. It has a lot of energy and the music is very nice. I got the original cast CD and listen to it quite often (enough that I can sing the lyrics to some of the songs...)Get this book to learn the gestation of this innovative musical.
