Summary: This man knows what's up with girls.
Review:

David Hamilton is a very liberal artist who should be given a nobel peace prize for FREEDOM!

I don't care what thoughts go through your head when looking through this book, the whole idea of this book is of pre-teen and early teen girls discovering their developing bodies (which you really can't do with clothing on) and beginning to wonder where that special someone is and who it will be. We all think that in our lives, and we will always continue to do so also. Every girl has their hidden desires, and looks at themselves a lot while growing up, and there is no shame in any of that.

These girls would never end up in porno movies. They should be on nude beaches, resorts, etc. feeling stress-free and being free as the little white doves they are.

Thunbs up to David Hamilton.

Summary: A glimpse at a very brief period in a girl's life.
Review: This book gives the reader a glimpse into the very brief period in the lives of females. As a male, I found the pictures not necessarily erotic. Yes, it is true that there is a lot of sexuality, but then again, adolescence is a time of sexual awakening. Hopefully, people in America would learn to accept sexuality as something that is a part of our being human. Later in time, the young women presented within these pages will look back at this time in their lives and remember the wonder, the excitement, and the anxieties of growing up and progressing on their way to becoming an individual human being. It is a period of life where they can still count on the security of home, and at the same time the thrill of new found freedoms. All of us, male and female, will probably look at these pictures and be saddened in a way. Don't we all wish that for at least one more brief moment before we all die, we can once again experience the wonder, excitement, and perspectives that we had as adolescents. Of course we cannot, that is a time that is gone forever. For me photography is a record, a reminder, a souvenir, of a moment in time that we can no longer relive. Even if these pictures are not of our own childhood, we can't help but appreciate the future value of these photographs to these young women in the future. Great work.

Summary: Innocence abounds
Review: For me, what sets Hamilton apart from other members of hisgenre, is his humor. "The age of Innocence", is a nearperfect example of his gift. Wingate Paine, in the sixties, published a book with older subjects that was sexy and fun. Hamilton does the same, only having younger subjects with only youthful experience. Overall, his taste and artistry match his imagination. There is less darkroom work and more life in the subjects. Buy the book and enjoy the moments of youth that stay in our dreams. Life is happy. The inner innocence and happiness captured here, is for us to smile and remember

Summary: Pornography Disguised as Art
Review: The photos and comments in this book are very sad andexploitative. This book is filled with photographs of young girls insexually suggestive poses. Yes, they are beautiful girls, but they would be more beautiful if not exposed in this way. The book ends with 3 pictures of naked girls in the arms of clothed men and the last picture is of a young girl, naked on a bed, legs spread, with a naked man about to climb on top of her. As an artist, I am insulted that Mr. Hamilton employs no sense of responsibility. As a mother and a woman, I am incensed that this type of book is created and made available.

Summary: Beauty to make the heart melt
Review: Establishing a lasting reputation for excellence in a field sofar removed from the safe core of authorship, as is sensualphotography of young women, is a feat reserved for giants. David Hamilton is one such giant. The Age of Innocence is a repository of some of the most startlingly-beautiful images the author has ever produced. While many are captured in Mr. Hamilton's classic misty surreal style, this volume concentrates on faces sharply etched and well-resolved. The personalities of his models show through as moody, intelligent, mischeivious, or shy. These are photos you want to talk to, to know, and to learn.

Summary: Brilliantly erotic photography of pubescent girls
Review: If your a fan of David Hamilton's work this is an absolute must, every photograph has it's own unique beauty. This book really shows that there is no more beautiful image in the world than that of the female body especially in it's age of innocence.
