Review: Let this beautiful book take you on a cross-country journey. The pictures are surprising and artful. I am not very computer savvy, so I was surprised how easy it was to "upload" a picture of my dog, Alexei, and make a custom cover. Great idea!!

Review: On 11/25/03 I ordered the custom cover, w/a 2 week promise of delivery. Still not here. One email from the company promised to send a second cover, But I have not received that either. Does anyone know where this company is physically located, or have a telephone number or address for them?

Summary: A MEDIOCRE AMATEUR PHOTO CONTEST
Review: Reviewing AMERICA 24-7, it soon became apparent that this highly hyped, but mediocre collection of mostly amateur photographs (gathered through a nationwide photo contest) is less about photography and photojournalism than about promoting it's main sponsor - a digital camera company. Combine sentimental photographs with washed out printing (at least in the copy I received), and 24-7 becomes one of the least appealing photographic books that have crossed my desk in a long time. To find photojournalism (and quality printing) this fall, look for National Geographic's THROUGH THE LENS

Summary: Very Disappointed!!
Review: The book alone is fine, but if you are attracted to the custom cover they offer, don't waste your time!! We ordered ours back on December 15th, were told that it would take 4-6 weeks, and have yet to receive it. I notified the company, and they believe the cover was lost in the mail. Instead of rushing a reprint out to us, they said it would take an additional 2-4 weeks for delivery. We bought this book for a family member and have yet to be able to deliver the gift.

Summary: wonderful book and custom cover!
Review: The book has beautiful photographs and wonderful captions full of miniature stories. I ordered a cover, and when I had trouble with uploading (I'm not very computer literate) their customer service team got back to me in a day and they helped me through it -- even resizing my picture for me. My custom cover order came in three weeks. I have to say it was really worth the effort seeing the final cover in my hands. I'm surprised they don't charge us more for the whole thing. I've ordered many more as gifts. Their new site is easier to use and I was even able to track my order using the USPS tracking number they gave me. I would expect any company trying out a whole new idea to take a few months to get such a large operation together, but now its June and the site seems so be working great! I would give it another chance if you had problems in the past. I'm a satisfied customer and I hope they get more positive reviews because I know they're really trying their best.

Summary: book is great but custom cover buyers beware
Review: The book is a lovely browsing-type book. But be careful about the complete lack of customer care/attention when it comes to the custom cover. I ordered two of them (different photo for each) and only received one. They refuse to respond to my emails so I guess that I'm out the $5.99. This lack of response makes me very wary of these people.

Summary: No Custom Covers
Review: The book is good, but the only reason I was willing to spend $50 each (bought 5) was because of the custom covers. Now I see that they are only $25 and I have yet to be able to give any of them out for Christmas (yes 2003!) because they have not sent the covers that were ordered on December 3, 2003. They were very prompt at charging my credit card for the full amount, but I have yet to receive a response to more than a half dozen emails and voicemails. This book will probably be even less in another month (I'll have 5 for sale - CHEAP!) but I'd advise against ordering the custom cover!

Summary: Forget the custom cover
Review: The book is great but don't fall for the custom cover. Although it is a great idea, the company is not very customer friendly. After you order, you are told the projected ship date which is 2 weeks. They do not respond to emails. Whatever you do...do not order from this company. In fact, I am surprised Amazon is supporting them.

Summary: Custom Covers - Where are they???
Review: The clever marketing gimmick with this book is not the trite pictures but the custom cover. I fell for it and placed my order on November 30th with a promise of two weeks delivery. On Dec 21 I got a notice of shipment but never received the cover. Customer service remains unresponsive to e-mails and no cover ever arrived. I did note that they have recently adjusted the the 2 week promise to 4-6 weeks. A very poor example of a company meeting its commitments.
