Velodyne DLS-3500 DLS Series Subwoofer

Summary: Great sub for the price.
Review: I had looked at and listened to a few different subs from Polk, Klipsh and Jbl before finding the Velodyne sub at Costco for $150. This thing kicks butt with music. The bass is tight and powerful. I cant imagine a 10 or 12" sub doing much better. I have not had to turn it up over 1/3 volume yet and it shakes the pictures off the wall.
With movies, (what I bought it for), it depends more on which movie I'm watching. The Lord Of The Rings trilogy rocks with this sub, as does the Star Wars trilogy and King Arthur, but it was stangely silent with movies like Terminator 2 (surprising}, and Pirates Of The Caribbean. If not for this mild letdown I'd give it 5 stars.
The build quality is excellent and the amp has barely gotten warm in the short time I've had it. It has the binding post speaker inputs instead of the clip type. The only disappointment with the construction is that the cone is coated fiber instead of poly, but from my experience with this sub I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for some solid bass without spending a fortune.
