Summary: Weird, Weird West
Review: Entertaining, if somewhat silly story concerning a gang of gorgeous cowgirl outlaws in the Old West. It's hard to tell, though, where this incarnation of the Old West was. The architecture, attire and dialect is as strangely reminiscent of medieval times as the mythical American Western. (It was no surprise to learn this movie was produced in South Africa...It's evident the film makers are only vaguely familiar with the traditional Western movie landscape). As the hilarious Jackie Gayle character in the movie Tin Men would say: "I don't think this is an accurate depiction of the Old West". Despite the distractingly inapproriate ambiance, Hooded Angels is still a lot of laughs. It's fun to watch these pretty gals engage in the kind of hard riding and gunplay usually reserved for the boys.

Summary: Chick flick for guys
Review: Unlike most Westerns this movie appeals to the girls as well. The story may be fanciful, the director is surely out of touch, and the setting is beautiful--the movie however is saved by the actors. Chantell Stander's craft outshines and makes the movie entertaining despite the drawbacks of the director. The soundtract produced in the UK is great. I am glad I did not pass this movie up, its a good thing, the girls are great and deserve all the credits.
