Summary: all the disc from most libraries cannot play smoothly
Review: because the librarians in most of the libraries have to stick a thick clear tape with 2 pcs of anti-theft metal strips in between and moronically add another sticker showing you that this disc is the property of what-you-name-it library. thus made all the discs become so abnormally thick and most of them would be jammed in your dvd player. in the long run, since almost of the discs rented from your library are with such stupid anti-theft metal strips/property sticker/thick see-thru tape, they cannot run with normal speed but by fits and starts, not only you cannot view it smoothly, the life span of your dvd player will be dramatically shortened. these librarians' knowledge of how the disc is scanned and played in the machine is so limited, the only thing they care is the security of the disc itself instead of such add-on devices will screw up your dvd players. so, better buy direct trouble free from amazon.com if you have enough dough.

Summary: A couple of good westerns for a great price
Review: I enjoyed both movies, and you can't beat the price. It's true the extras aren't much, and the quality of the video and sound aren't comparable to modern technology, but what do you expect for $6. If you like Westerns, you'll probably like this disk. If you like Louis L'Amour, you might love it.

Summary: Very Poor Quality
Review: The movies look like a transfer from bad copies of a 8mm or 16mm home movies to DVD done by someone on their home computer. They obviously didn't have capability or access to do a quality film digitization from a good source -- shakey image, poor cropping, heavily interlaced, with some ghosting in scenes. The movies were heavily compressed to fit two titles on one DVD which makes the video quality even worse. "Extras" are on Louis L'Amour and Richard Crenna. They consist of seven sparse screens of cut and paste text lifted from the web. None of the other actors or filmmakers are listed.

Worst this title was purchased for a public library. Some patrons have complained that the disk refuses to play correctly.

Summary: Vintage or vinegar?
Review: This DVD does not appear on Louis L'Amour Official Web Site and I understand why now : so vintageted !! The story is as good as Louis always delivers. And I bought it thinking of Crossfire Trail, or The Quick and The Dead, with the usual expectations of a fine western.
But the video is technically very poor, hardly visible at all sometimes. You have to be a real he fan to order (it at your own peril 7$).
