Summary: An "atypical" & brilliant show!
Review: Bordertown was a brilliant show, in my humble opinion. An "atypical" western, viewers not only got "disguised" history lessons (President James Garfield, Teddy Roosevelt, the Fenian Raids in Canada, etc.), but the show also depicts the Canadian version of western expansion, and educating Americans about their neighbours to the north is needed (now more than ever!)

The show, whilst technically a drama, also had a lot of humour and very appropriate for the entire family.

Whilst I'm grateful that we have now have two episodes on DVD's, the whole series would be even better!

Summary: More, more!!
Review: I can't say it enough - we want them all! It is nice to see that they have, since this release, come out with Volumes 1, 3, and 4. I wonder if this disc is considered volume 2?

This disc has 2 episodes:
The Runners - Episode One - A driverless Mountie wagon arrives in Bordertown and Bennett must find the person who robbed the wagon and killed the driver and escort.
Medicine Woman - Episode Two - Marie suspects a federal agent, who delivers government food to the Blackfoot tribe, of illegaly selling the food to settlers.

This series ran on the Family Channel for 3 years and starred Richard Comar as Marshal Jack Craddock, Sophie Barjac as Marie Dumont, and John H. Brennan as Corporal Clive Bennett. Each episode is about 22 minutes long. The DVD has no extras, but the picture quality and joy of having these on DVD are well worth the great price. The show is clean and can be watched with the youngest of viewers.

In 1880, Pemmican lay at the western edge of the Great Plains. Nearly a decade later, surveyors of the 49th parallel reached the community of 180 to find it straddling the new Canada-US border. It wasn't until the mud had settled that Bordertown's awkward, if not unique, character came to light. Law and order were dealt with on one side by Clive Bennett, a Mountie, and on the other by U.S. Marshal Jack Craddock. Whiskey traders, buffalo hunters, gold prospectors, silver miners, drifters, and drunks kept the lawmen busy. Still, clashes were inevitable; they shared an office devided only by a line - the 49th parallel. Acute rivalry in the pursuit of justice was further complicated by their pursuit of the same woman. Marie Dumont was a widowed Parisian, a sensitive lady of considerable breeding and the town's doctor.

It is so nice to know that Bordertown is only a disc away. Thank you Platimum for putting Bordertown on DVD. I'm obliged!

Review: The DVD cover and this site says that running time is 108 minutes.
Well, its not true. It contains only 2 episodes x 22 minutes each, total running time 44 minutes.
So little...

Review: This was a wonderful series that beats anything on television today. Pity that production ended after three seasons. While I'm thrilled that two episodes have been released, I would be overjoyed if the entire series was released.
