Review: This is a weird film, and the first half seems like just another bland crime thriller, but the second half is full of brilliant special F/X and action. If only the whole film was as good as it's climax.

Review: I won't do a long review, because FDTD doesn't deserve one. I was expecting a funny, violent, action thriller. Well, it was funny in places. Tons of violence, too. But THRILLER? Well, here's a brief summary of the plot. Two on-the-run bank robbers take a family hostage and order them to transport them to Mexico. On arrival, the brothers and family wait for their contact in a sleazy Mexican porn bar. Oh, by the way, the bar's infested with vampires. Are we given an explanation? Well, NO. Normally films with an idea as odd as vampires atleast explain themselves. Hell, even Blade (a far superior action flick with Wesley Snipes) had some plot. But not Dusk Till Dawn. Cast wise, Harvey Keitel is pretty interesting as an ex-preacher, George Clooney is good fun as one of the robbers, and Quentin Tarantino (also director) is pretty lame as his brother. The rest of the cast are forgettable - and if you watched this waiting for Salma Hayek, don't bother. She's dead within 10 minutes of her introduction. Vampires aren't even mentioned for an hour, and the script in general is poor. Very little happens except a few vampire battles, and very few characters (none infact) advance anywhere. There's no depth, no intelligence - just two hours of carnage. I LIKE CARNAGE, but not when it's as utterly contrived and disgusting as this. Basically, this is an awful film with a lame cast, few laughs and NO and I mean NO plot. Stick with Blade.

Review: I love vampire movies, I have no problems with blood and gore and can even do without a distinct story line if the movie is at least nice to watch. This one however I could have done without. If you are like me and romanticise vampires, don't watch this one. If you feel you must see it, rent it, don't waste your money.

Review: This is not Tarintino's best work. However there are some pretty good action packed sequences that blow you away. The vampires in the movie could use some work. George Clooney makes the movie, he is one of the coolest guys in Hollywood and he doesn't stop here. And Selma Hayek... WOW...

Summary: Don't forget the hostage family!
Review: All the 49 reviews posted on this site before now say all I could think to say about the vampires' and the Gecko brothers' performances. Equally worthy of comment are the performances of Keitel, Lewis and Liu as the family taken hostage by the Geckos. I think this was one of the very best representations of the Stockholm Syndrome that will ever be on film. From the moment Lewis's character "talks trash" from the toilet to the border guard, the Geckos and the hostage family are bonded till the end (literally for all but two of them). I particularly liked Keitel's "Are you such a loser that you can't tell when you've won" speech to Seth in the bar. In fact, in my opinion Keitel's portrayal of a "man of faith" experiencing a crisis in faith is in and of itself one of the best performances anyone could ever hope to see. If you didn't notice all this the first time you watched the movie, watch it again (I'm sure you won't mind doing that) and pay attention this time. If you haven't seen the movie yet, be aware of the fine performances by the "hostage family". Those performances are part of the real appeal of this film.

Summary: This Movie Is By Far The Best Peace Of Art I Have Ever Seen
Review: I don't even know where to start well let's start with the begining a non-stop action brutal gunfight that leaves two innocent people dead now that is a good begining to a horror movie!then they find this poor innocent family which they turn into a bunch of vampire murdering psychopaths another very cool aspect.but what i love most about this movie is the fact that if you watch it as much as i have it actually turns into a comedy.i know you probably think i am a very sick man but what are you going to do.the only bad part of this movie is that they tried making a sequal and triqual and i am telling you right now if you see "From Dusk Til Dawn"DO NOT SEE THE SEQUALS! i mean they just stopped trying completly!i actually own a copy of number 1 but if you out there even think of purchasing number 2 then you deserve to be severely injured!i know i am getting off the point so i will some this movie up for you it was a non stop action horror with hillarious diolauge and some cool special effects! that's all im going to say.if you ever see hipe chick review another movie dont even bother reading it

Summary: It Dosen't Get Much Better Than This
Review: What can you say about this movie that isn't good. Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino make an exellent action combo! To some people this might be amother cheezy action movie with big stars. This non-stop thriller, to me, Is by far the best action movie of its time. The story line is great, the special effects are outsanding and the stars really fit their characters. I've awalys wanted to see George Clooney as a high- temperd psychopath in a movie and this is the one!

Review: Few movies I have seen in my lifetime made me sit up straight on the couch like I did during this movie. A typical cops and robbers movie suddenly turns into a totally different plot. You gotta see this one. I added this to my DVD collection so should you.
