Summary: A dark glimpse into the potential of man
Review: The Spawn DVD collection is a great item to watch and own. The story is done is a very realistic and articulate manner. It provides action, suspense, and keeps you hooked from the first time you watch it. While this series is definitly not intended for young children, it should also not be viewed by those that have a weak and ignorant mind. To fully appreciate this set you should be open-minded and enjoy every DVD for what it's worth-which is to say a masterpiece of animation and voice acting. This set is one that can be watched over and over again with the same excitement as watching it for the first time. If you are a fan of dark action comics like Spawn or Batman, then this is a must have collection. If you are into action then you should perhaps only buy one season at first-just to see if you like it. However, I believe that you will not be dissappointed. One of the best things about the Spawn collection is that it ends how all forms of entertainment should end-it leaves you wanting so much more.

Summary: I Want More!
Review: This anime was superb. I was very much in love with the way it was created and the storyline, however; I want more. The anime is very powerful in the way it was presented and plays many complex themes of love, war and the fight between good and evil, however; I WANT MORE!!

The need for McFarlane to continue this series is obvious, the ending is very open-ended and thus begs you to want to know what happens to Spawn and Wanda, What happens with Wynn and Terry? The questions are many and I guess the final and most interesting question, will McFarlane have Good or Evil win?

Summary: Animated Crime Drama at its Finest
Review: This box set is a treasure. The only frustration I have with it was that the series ended. Chillingly effective, properly dark the series achieves a nobility the live-action version could not match. The dark heart of Spawn the series pulses in every episode and it's nearly impossible not to be horrified and moved at the same time. Those who don't believe animation can be as powerful, dramatically effective as "live action" need only begin to watch episode 1 - you'll be hooked!

Summary: HBO Bring Back Spawn!
Review: This is an excellent example of American Animation that isn't corny or for kids like the common stereotype. The voice acting for this series was done perfectly. Animation is flawless. Are there any problems? Yeah you bet. The first Season is the best. Afterwards, the clown rarely seems to appear at all. Spawn didn't seem to fight that many people from hell. At the end of the third season is when it really started to get off the ground. But that didn't stop HBO from yanking it due to low ratings. I could tell that if there had been a fourth season that it would be the most violent/kick$$/entertaining of them all. Any other problems? The DVD's themselves. I hate double sided DVD's, they get really dirty in my house for some reason... I heard that there is a problem with the Audio and directors commentary in the Third Season when sold separately. That problem is fixed here. The bonus disc is a little interesting, not necessarily essential, it talks more about the creative process and how Spawn was created(by Todd MacFarlane). The package is cool too, and it's great to carry around all the discs in one box. This is a Show that HBO need to give a second Chance. But that may never happen because the movie sucked so much and everything nowadays is about $. Despite these small problems, it's still so good I'm giving it five stars. If you like Spawn in any way shape or form, buy this now. Any other Superhero should bow down to Spawn due to inferiority.

Summary: Awesome Series,
Review: This is my favorite animated series next to " Sonic SatAM" with " Aeon Flux" & " Transformers". and this one follows the Comic Book closely with a faithful version that the live-action movie never had. It's basically about a man who becomes a Hellspawn so he can he his wife again and avenge his Death, it's not a Kiddie cartoon cause it contains Gore, graphic violence, nudity, sex and
Profanity.

Highly recommended.

Summary: Spawn (Animated Series)
Review: This is the best animated series I have seen. I will watch this again. Although I really think they need to continue.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Three complete seasons of violence...
Review: Welcome to the dark, gritty world of Hell's latest warrior "Spawn".

The story starts with Al Simmons, a former government "problem solver" who is murdered and returns from the pits of hell as a hellspawn for one thing and one thing only. His former wife, Wanda. A few years have managed to slip by him however, and the world he returns to has changed. Wanda has managed to have a family since his death... and due to the way he died, he's the poster-boy for charcoal.

He tries to deal with these painful facts as he fights off government assassins, the mob, heaven's avenging angels and more in an extremely corrupt world.

Spawn tends to be a little over the top in some areas, but the shadowy animation and the sinister government conspiracies that seem to surround him are always extremely well done and filled with graphic violence (this cartoon isn't for the kids).

Just a word to the wise though, this series is heavily addictive... and this three series set isn't the end... not by a long shot.

Summary: Love the Series... hated the DVD collection
Review: Well I'm a great fan of the Spawn comic book. Once I heard they made an animated series I was really happy, however since I lived in Brazil then I never had a chance to watch it.

This DVD collection does a lot to bring the quality of the HBO series down. First it is clearly designed to trick people. Once I saw they did the story in only three season I assumed they would cut some of the back story. To my surprise they didn't, you get a lot of the subplot, the downside is that the animated series HAS NO ACTUAL END. The end of the last season isn't the end of the Spawn comic book or any end whatsoever, the story is just left hanging in midair. I must assume that HBO didn't like the numbers and stopped the production of the series. However the DVD not only never mentions that but also names the last DVD as "The Ultimate Battle" a clearly misleading title (I know with over 100 comic books they couldn't hope to put everyting in, but they should have planned to have some sort of finish for the animated series, even if not an ultimate ending for the Spawn saga). They also gave up on the power meter after season one so it you can't even guess how far up or down the story they are.
The other MAJOR problem with this collection is that you have to flip the DVD to see the the other half of each season. I don't know why this was done but it is really anoying and I can't believe it was really nescessary (maybe cheaper for them). Besides that the animation is great and the story line is the one that made Spawn a great comic book. Buy this DVD collection if you are a fan that can take all this sh*t or if you don't care watching all the development of a great story but not having its end.

Summary: Good clean...or bloody...fun
Review: Well, "The Ultimate Battle" is something a misleading title for the third disc, although Spawn himself reaches a rather important resolution and closure by its end. This isn't a bad thing--it rather made me wish there were more seasons done for the series.

Lots of violence, a bit of nudity, rather gratuitous profanity, dialogue that's mildly painful here and there (but nowhere as groan-inducing as much of Cogliostro's portentious over-narration--this is relied upon to a much lesser extent in the second and third discs, which is a good thing), and nice animation quality throughout. Check it out.
