Summary: This set leaves you wanting more...
Review: ...and I mean that in the good way. After spending every night with Lucy for a few weeks and getting reacquainted with her later work, I am eagerly awaiting a Best Of Here's Lucy Volume 2. Lucie, Desi Jr. and Shout Factory have all done a commendable job of assembling this--one of the best Classic TV DVD sets I have seen to date! The episodes themselves look pristine, vibrant and sharp, the commentaries are fun and insightful, and the extras such as the Syndication reel and the bloopers are an absolute treat to watch. My only complaint is that 24 episodes are not enough. I hope this set sells like hotcakes so that a follow-up is released quickly. My favorite bits from this set: Lucy's at-home rehearsal of the pickle commercial, Lucy and Carol Burnett competing to be "Secretary Beautiful" and Desi Jr.'s encounter with Ann-Margret! This set is a bargain, so order one today. The minute the little Lucy Claymation figure prances across the screen, you will feel a delicious retro buzz and be instantly transported back to the simpler days of yesteryear~!

Summary: Thank you for this wonderful collection
Review: Any Lucy fan will want to own this DVD collection, that's for sure. The episodes speak for themselves, and nothing more need be said about them. The real pleasure of this DVD collection is the wonderful extras: bloopers, rehearsal footage, commentaries by Lucie Jr and Desi Jr and of course, the wonderful Carol Burnett and Wayne Newton. They provide valuable insights into Lucy, and the show. For years we've heard that Lucy was difficult to work with, very controlling and demanding on the set, and now we have actual rehearsal footage to allow viewers to decide for themselves. I want to thank the creators of this DVD collection for a product that I'll cherish for years and years.

Summary: where's lucy?
Review: at least the new "here's lucy" is not cheap knockoff stuff, so i guess that's good. but why has there never been a quality release of the earliest shows when lucy launched her solo series (with viv vance) in 1962? none of the knockoff dvd's even mentions any of those black-and-white "lucy show" episodes from the early '60s--when she was at least still reminiscent of her classic comedic talents circa "i love lucy." all we get are the later stuff with mr. mooney and a bunch of superfluous guest stars. anybody got an answer to this?

Summary: Here's LUCIE (ugh)..........................................
Review: Geez, "hand picked" by Lucie Jr should have warned me, but even I was shocked to see "the classic Pepsodent Commercial" starred HER! Lucy Sr was the star and reason for the show, Cling on Lucie Jr never stops mugging, scene stealing, hamming, nauseating and probably never will. Watch for the genius of Lucille Ball, not her ham bone, attention starved, obnoxious daughter. The shame is that the real talent in the Ball offspring was handsome, casual Desi Jr. Give us Lucy...... give us a break from Lucie - Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeezeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!

Review: Here's Lucy - Best Loved Episodes
is my favorite DVD set I have.. WOW, this show brings back memories.. It's the first tv show I remember watching... and also loving.. Lucille Ball is timeless, and this DVD brings the late 1960's and early 1970's era right back.. In incredible living color.. Everything looks remarkably vivid, and also the sound is amazing. I can't get over the amazing picture and sound... The picture quality is better than any of the DVD tv collections I have. and Yes the Animated Tap Dancing Lucy at the start of the program is a sight for sore eyes.. It's been too many years since I've gotten to see the lost treasure... This Lucy show is incredible...
It looks like you are watching from the front row of the taping.
You never see this in syndication.. and that`s a shame since this is LUCY in LIVING COLOR..
It's really fun to see all these guest stars... But, seeing her with her real life children is even BETTER.
They are as gifted and talented as their parents...
For all you Brady Bunch fans, if you get this box set, you can see Desi Arnaz Jr at the height of his popularity .. and during the time that he had a guest appearance on the Brady Bunch. Remember the episode about Marcia's diary.. and she mentioning that somedoay she wanted to be Mrs. Desi Arnaz Jr.
Also you can see Eve Plumb (Jan Brady) guest starring with Donny Osmond on this DVD collection.
It's too cool.. This show is what we were watching in the late 1960's and also in the 1970's.
I hope they will put out all the episodes onto DVD..
The extra features are incredible as well. I really love hearing Lucie and Desi just talking as they watch these episodes... They were so young when they started on this show.

Summary: A Treasure of Childhood Memories
Review: I found this DVD at a locla record store yesterday. What a case of time travel! I remember that I would watch this right after "Gunsmoke" and right before my bedtime! I remember the episode of Lucy breaking her leg skiing airing around the time I started first grade in September 1971. Best of all, I remember what amounted to a comedy duel between Lucy and Flip Wilson (the latter playing Geraldine in "Gone With the Wind"-how's that for surreal?).

Flip-I'm free! I'm free! I'm F-R-E!

Lucy-You can't even spell! That's F-R-E-E!

Flip-Look here, I'm free now ! I can spell it any way I want!

And now to have all of this that was tucked into the corner of my memories back on DVD! As Karen Carpenter said, "It's Yesterday Once More."

Review: I remember watching this program every Monday night on CBS. It's is about time this classic series made it to DVD! This show highlighted and set the stage for Lucille Ball's children. It's a shame that this series is not aired in the Chicago area in reruns. As a parent my children has never seen this program and there isn't many family programs that children can watch with parental supervision. I'm am looking forward for this program release!!
