Summary: great set to own
Review: I remember watching this show on tv as a young girl. I think that's what helped me joined the army when I turned 18. The actors in it are almost like being your family. i have already worn one set out with my daughter watching it. She even likes it. I highly recommand it for your collection.

Summary: 14 years...worth the wait
Review: Finally Tour of Duty on DVD. After TNT stopped airing the show in syndicate a year or so ago I was angry that I had not recorded as many shows as I could have. I remember watching the show when I was 11 with my father and younger brother back in the 80's. I know I've seen every episode a couple of times and they will NEVER get old. From pictures/audio/screen savers/ and a great T-shirt I am now on top of the world knowing that on June 8th I can spend the night in with THE boys.

Summary: A fabulous show
Review: The first time I watched this show I was six years old. I loved the show then and I still love it now. My parents taped many episodes for me the first time they aired but the tapes are so old and worn out. I'm thrilled that finally after all these years it's coming out on DVD. It's a great show that covers all the important factors of the Vietnam war and it does with a warmth and grace that is lacking from other Vietnam War dramas.

Summary: TRIBUTE.
Review: TOUR OF DUTY did for the Vietnam veteran what COMBAT did for those who served on the front lines of WWII 20 years earlier. Released in 1987 on the heels of big screen counterparts, FULL METAL JACKET and PLATOON, TOUR struggled in the ratings, but CBS had the courage to stick with the series and spun 2 additional seasons. The atmosphere is authentic: The Rolling Stones "Paint It Black" opened every episode, and there was a genuine mix of combatants played by some great young talent, many of whom were in their first roles. The scripts were at times heart breaking (the rescue of a Vietnamese infant), regular cast members were killed, and the pain was a stinging as a napalm strike. TOUR was a fine tribute to a much maligned war.

Summary: I will rate this as 5 stars when released...
Review: An awesome series that sparked off my interest in finding out moe about the Vietnam war. To have covered sensitive subjects like the Phu An (sorry for spelling) massacre shows how important the series was and is about briging the subject matter to the masses. We were given the overconfident US soldier, the moral doctor, the important input of the war reporter (in the guise of the lovely Alex Devlin), and the humanity expressed in the final episode - the reality of the return to 'The World'. In addition to this my penchant for tiger stripe camo was born. Can't wait.......

Summary: I want it on DVD
Review: Tour of Duty was and is my most favorite show I loved to watch. I couldn't wait for the next episode and what was happening to my favorite characters. I loved the show because it showed how the war affected the soldiers who fought it. I definintly would buy the DVD if it came out.

Summary: Excellent TV Series
Review: I remember as a kid watching the episodes that my brother had taped off of TV. Not only was it exciting for the action but it had that good human element too like Platoon: what's right and what's wrong, tempations, friendship, etc. Even when I watch it today Im still impressed by it.

I do hope they release it with the 60s era songs in the episodes which accompanied the series when it first aired such as Paint It Black and All Around the Watchtower instead of the instrumental pieces that were on the TNT versions.

Summary: Please, please release this series
Review: I am writing this plea/review for whoever is responsible for DVD releases.

Like every other review I too used to love the series and still do. I have most of the episodes recored on VHS but the quality is terrible and would love to own the entire series on DVD.

It is as good as band of brothers if not better and just cant understand why it has not been released.

As I said above please please release this series as it will make an awful lot of people very happy.

Summary: Tour of Duty
Review: This series was the best at capturing an audience. I was in the Army and can relate to the way the squad members interacted. I think that the series enlighted America about a war the Nation wanted to forget. This series should be released on DVD so that others have may see and experience what happened so long ago. The series clearly showed that "All gave Some.....Some gave ALL".

Summary: Just Do It!
Review: ...BR>This was the best example of the soldiers lives and emotions in Vietnam. Many thought they understood the war, they didn't. This series opens eyes to the reality of that conflict. This deserves to be seen! To the powers that be: Don't consider profit. Do it for America, do it for the many who fought and died, and most of all, do it for all those who have forgotten!!!
