Summary: Like lambs to the slaughter
Review: Feel free to disagree with the review I wrote.
That is America. But to be so childish as to take the time
to go through all my reviews and give an unhelpful rating
is beyond stupid. An Unhelpful rating in my particular
review of Survivor is to be understood, feel free.

But viewer from earth was so upset that I did not like Survivor
and valued my opinion so much that he could not just ignore
a review that he did not agree with.Instead he had to stalk me
throughout amazon behind a curtain hiding his real name.

I placed this review because I do not like survivor. Most people acted like adults and either
ignored it or gave if a unhelpful rating.

But sadly too many are like this child, who can't accept a diferent opinion.

Summary: After all this time....
Review: Well I like to think of myself as the biggest survivor fan there is. Who else would fork out 40 bucks for two of those buff things??? But anyways my point is, ever since the first episode I've recorded every single episode on VHS, so now I've got about 30 different tapes full of the different seasons laying around. Meanwhile all this time I've wondered when they're going to start coming out on dvd. So now theyre here, the first season anyways, and theyre sooo much better than watching the old tapes. the picture quality is outstanding and the commentary is great too. Hopefully they will continue with the rest of the seasons so i can throw all my old videos away for good...

And now that that is done with, i'd just like to say that it's really too bad that Amber won All Stars. Amber, who I think shouldnt have been an all star in the first place, definitely wasnt the "best of the best" It was really disappointing that most of the favorites like Colby, Rob C, and Ethan had to be voted out early leaving people less worthy like Amber, Jenna, and Alicia.

But anyways, CBS, i hope you keep coming with the great dvds!

Summary: Just Awesome!
Review: I first started watching Survivor during season 2 so I was always confused when references were made to Survivor: Borneo. But, now I know! This season has all the raw emotion of the show, when it was still fresh. Even though I love Survivor, this season seems to be less manufactured and the personalities more real. I'm excited about the prospect of all seasons being released in this format, so everybody, purchase this DVD! The extra's are great, the episode's are great, and the presentation is great.

Review: Started watching Survivor the 5th season, ever since then I've loved the show. This dvd is great, and should be bought by any Survivor fan.

Summary: Only two minor complaints about the set
Review: First off let me say that this DVD set is great. The extras are great and the commentary with Rudy, Rich, and Gerv on the first ep and the season finale (double length) is great. It's really cool to hear these guys go down memory lane. And you actually find out more about their experiences that weren't aired in the eps. Nearly all the extras are really cool.

I only have two minor complaints about the set. First the person that was voted off in each episode is on the back of each disc. SO BE CAREFUL if you don't remember who got voted off or if you didn't see the episodes, DON'T LOOK AT THE BACK OF EACH DISC CASE! There is nothing revealing on the discs so they are good.

The other minor complaint would be that you can't select scenes to watch. You will have to use remote to individually skip through chapters instead of a menu where you select the tribal council/ending scene.

Summary: It's About Time (Updated)
Review: Now, I know it's really not possible to write a review of this product being that I have yet to view it. All I can say is that I a really excited about this release. I am a huge fan of the show and my one regret is that I got on the boat late. The summewr of the original survivor was a turbulent one for me and I never got in on the action until late in the season. Now, when I discuss the show I always have to take a back seat when the events of season one are brought up. The release of the "highlights" DVD was not enough. Now, I will happily be able to view the season in its entirety, on a high quality DVD format loaded with extra's. So, I must say thank you to the producers for finally seeing the light on this needed release for fans of the show. Although I would have rather this release come before the airing of the All Star edition, I will gladly be one of the first to add this to my collection. And stay tune for my actual review when I finally get to view the product.

Edit(Update)

So I finally got my copy, ran home and popped the first DVD into the player. So this was the beginning of the adventure. What really shocked me at first is how different the show seemed. Everything from the camera styles and lighting seemed to come from a different place than the later seasons of the show. Jeff himself was no where near as polished, often stumbling over his now famous catch phrases. Not that I am complaining. There is a real raw and exciting feel to this edition. I got to meet such interesting characters as B.B. the crotchety old work horse and Ramona, whose queasy stomach in the early going may have cost her. My only qualm so far with the box set is the fact that they have listed who was voted off on each episode on the back of the box in the episode description. While I know a lot of the basics of what happened, it still would have been cool to keep a little suspense going for those of us who never saw the premiere episode. Well, more later!!!!

Summary: I LOVE Survivor
Review: Survivor is the best reality show by far and even though the series gets better with each and every new season, this is still great. I pray (CBS if you are reading!!!!) that they release ALL Survivor shows in this format. Without commercials, with extra features etc etc. This is great and if you are a fan and even if you aren't, go grab this. I could watch it over and over. It's even better now that it's DVD.

Summary: Surprising
Review: I began watching the first Survivor about five episodes in and I was instantly hooked. So when I rented this, I knew pretty much who was going to get voted off and when for the most part. Realizing this, I didnt expect to fully enjoy watching it all over again. Surprisingly I did. In fact, I enjoyed it a lot. Seeing how the original survivors coped with this all new and unpredictable scenario was great fun. Seeing Colleen again, who I still think is the cutest and most appealing survivor, or Kelly, who was a marked person by her former alliance and had to win immunity time and again just to stay in the game were both real treats. I still think Kelly deserved to win. She was the most athletic, had the greatest mental and physical endurance and one thing that is overlooked, she was the smartest. She proved how smart when she would win the mental challenges as well as the physical. Plus she looked amazing in a bathing suit. Hats off to her big time. Sue's infamous speech at the final council was still a shock. The show flat out works even though I knew how it was going to end. The production, pacing, editing and direction were all first rate.
As for the extras, it was a real treat to see the reunion show again. It seemed like so much more fun than the subsequent reunion shows. Just about everyone was having a good time. I really enjoyed the commentaries on the first and last episodes. Jeff Probst, Rudy, Richard and Gervase were terrific as they recounted events on the island. I wish they had done this for a few more episodes. It was a lot of fun and very interesting.
Kudos for the extra Best of Survivor disc, too. On its own, not a great dvd but as an addition to the boxed set, it really completes the set nicely.
Overall, with the watchability, quality, and extras, I highly recommend this set, especially at the price. $34.99 is a very very good price and Im glad I bought it.
Just as side, there is no way that Rupert should have won the million dollars recently. A complete and absolute idiot that could not win a challenge or immunity or do much of anything else except pretend to know what he was talking about. One of the most overrated survivor contestants ever. Even though I didnt like him, Rob M. played the best game and deserved the million. But as Rich talks about in the commentary, its not about who 'deserves' it in Survivor. In fact, it almost never is the person who deserves it and that may be why we are all so interested.

Summary: great show, but beware of Amazon.com
Review: The show is fantastic, as many people have said before. I just want to warn people who might not look too closely. In the Amazon.com "Better Together" feature, they suggest purchasing the box set with the "Survivor: Season One - Greatest and Most Outrageous Moments" DVD for $13 extra. But this DVD is already included in the box set. Bad Amazon.

UPDATE

So... good Amazon. In one day, they took the Better Together feature down. I'm impressed.

Summary: REPEAT??????
Review: I hesitated when I saw that the first season was going to be available on DVD, I thought!! Oh I don't know I already saw it, but when I started watching it again, I LOVE having it. I was able to observe all that I knew had happened, whey the survivors felt the way they did about each other when it was over, etc. Watching the show again was awesome, it was like I never saw the show. I remember parts of it but when watching it again believe it or not, I got excited, I got disappointed when they voted each other off, etc. It may sound Crazy, but true. I can't wait for the next one, PLEASE put the Australia one out, I can't wait to see it all, again. The Bonus DVD of the outrageous Moments wasn't really needed since now I have 2, but it is a bonus, all I can say is if you haven't seen the First Season or Have, you won't be sorry to see it again & again!! Thanks for the release. I hope they don't take their good old time with the next one!!!
