Summary: AWARDS MUST BE FORTHCOMING!
Review: This is simply the best show I have ever seen on T.V. Emmy awards, Cable ACE awards MUST be forthcoming (especially for Robert Lindsay's perfect, brilliant performance as Capt. Pellew!) Bravos also to the director, producer and what must have been a marvelous crew to have produced this masterpiece!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: BEST PRODUCTION SEEN ON TV IN YEARS
Review: THIS IS THE BEST THING ON TV I'VE SEEN IN YEARS. THE VIDEO SET CONTAINS LOTS OF ADDITIONAL SCENES CUT FROM THE TELEVISION AIRING. ROBERT LINDSAY IS ABSOLUTELY THE FINEST ACTOR AROUND AND I HOPE ALL THIS TREMENDOUS RESPONSE MEANS WE'LL SEE LOTS MORE OF HIM!!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: EXCELLENT!!
Review: I watched the series on A&E. I have been a long-time fan of Hornblower and enjoy reading andy novel about him. This movie(s) really does the book justice. I hope that the future holds more for Hornblower.

Summary: Another wonderful performance by A&E!
Review: A&E does it AGAIN! Watching Pride & Predjudice got me hooked. Horatio Hornblower was just as good. It had my entire family glued to the TV every Sunday night! The actor who played Horatio was perfect for the role--he was also very good in Masterpiece Theater's Great Expectations.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Quite simply, television at its very best.
Review: The stories, the cast (especially Ioan Gruffudd and Robert Lindsay), the ships, the cinematography, the music, and everything else about this series is absolutely top-notch.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: This is a fascinating story and excellent production.
Review: The four-part presentation of "Hornblower" by A. & E. is uniformly excellent. Beyond the riveting drama and adventure, the acting is superb, from the magnificent Hornblower and Captain Pellue down to the supporting cast. There is a real air of authenticity about the scenes, costumes, characters, and story. Perhaps the thing which most motivates me to write this is the extroadinary portrayal of high values. It is so very refreshing to see people who live by deeply ingrained ideas of honor, loyalty, obedience, self-sacrifice, and courage. Let's see more of this kind of production!

Summary: Fantastic!!
Review: What a wonderful series!! Ioan Gruffudd was absolutely perfect as Hornblower, capturing his youth, courage, intelligence and deep sense of honor, and the rest of the cast was wonderful as well! I loved the development of the relationship between Hornblower and Captain Pellue (Robert Lindsay did an excellent job!) I can't wait until my video comes, so I can watch it all over again! Here's hoping that we see many more installments of this excellent series!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: I want more...
Review: This is such a good series (not to metion that Ioan Gruffudd is talented and Quite hot!). I am hoping the A&E will come our with more.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Wow, a great production that leaves you wanting more.
Review: I really enjoyed this series and hope, as many others do, that there will be more in the future. It was great getting a glimpse of the British military and history. The cinematography of the sailing was exceptional, as were the actors and the stories themselves. Can't wait to get my hands on the books now!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Truly exceptional...can we have some more, please?
Review: Let me join the chorus of voices in praise for the Hornblower videos. If only they were semi-annual movies. Hopefully A&E and their British partner will decide to produce more Hornblower videos, with the talented Mr. Gruffudd in the title role.
