Summary: Gia (unrated version)
Review: I viewed both versions and the unrated version is much better. The film seems to flow better and it's not as choppy as the original version aired on HBO and on VHS. The addition of the 6 minutes is well worth your time and money. This is Angelina Jolie's finest performance to date. With all of the films Angelina Jolie has made in the last 10 years....this was her best. If you love Angelina.....buy Gia (unrated version).

Summary: Two thumbs up for Angelina Jolie
Review: I first saw Angelina in "Hackers" and then in "Playing by Heart". When I saw her in the second movie, I was stuck by her incredible beauty. Then I began to hear of her in the news constantly and before I knew it, she was my new favorite actress. When I saw "Gia," I already had great expectations and she did not disappoint me. The film was powerful, raw, heart-wrenching and I found myself cringing in horror at the end, but Angelina did a spectacular job of making it seem so real and believable. You tend to forget the whole "suspension of disbelief" and focus on Carangi's story as if you were actually there instead of just viewing a movie. YOU HAVE to see this movie!

Summary: GIA by Scott Cohen
Review: Gia's lives was a tragic live. First it was good, but at the end, so horrible. But the story from the beginning till the end amazed me. And Angelina really bring this movie to be the best movie with her act. Fantastic.

Summary: Unforgetable GIA
Review: An unforgetable film! Personally, I didn't know Gia was an actual person until reading of the editorial reviews. I completely fell in love with the character, wishing I was able to jump through the screen and help her anyway possible. I experienced this movie six to seven months ago while on a business trip and still remember the emotion Angelina Jolie created with this character. I have only had the opportunity to see Angelina in her role as Gia, however, have kept an eye out for newer movies with her in them. Finally, I saw a preview of a different movie with her playing a role and now I am tryin to learn who this amazing actress is. If you see only one movie in the near future, I urge you to feel this movie. You will not only being watching the movie you will experience every bit of it.

Summary: Rapid rise to and Tragic fall from stardom
Review: The story of the first American supermodel, Gia Carangi, is one that moves you beyond anything you can imagine. To see the down-and-out pizza joint girl rise from nothingness in Philadelphia to everything around the world and back is something that cannot be believed unless it is seen. Angelina Jolie carries this role in such a way that you couldn't possibly finish this movie without being disturbed, horrified, and moved nearly to tears by its tragic ending. Perhaps Carangi wasn't something of amazing talent, but Jolie certainly is and her depiction of the drug-riddled model certainly deserved every award and ounce of critical acclaim that she received. Without question, purchase this movie and watch it many times. I promise this much: you will never look at Jolie the same way again, you will NEVER see Carangi in the same light as previously, and you will never EVER touch another drug again in your entire life.

Summary: Live the life fantastic.
Review: When talented people lose their lives far too early, it's tragic. The story of Gia Carangi, as presented by scripters Michael Cristofer (Bonfire of the Vanities), and Jay McInerney (nothing worth mentioning) tries hard to present a tale of tragedy with one glaring omission: Gia Carangi was never talented.

She was beautiful, and from a broken home. She became addicted to drugs, she had low self-esteem, and lost her life early. It's all a shame but hardly anything earth-shattering in today's world. Unfortunately, Mr. McInerney continues to believe that beauty IS talent, that people really CARE about supermodel's lives, what they think, alas the rub.

Angelina Jolie is beautiful and takes us through a range of emotions in her portrayal of Gia. The story is predictable and derivative, the dialogue cliché after cliché.

Pass.

Summary: Gia lives
Review: This movie brings Gia's life vividly into the spotlight. Angelina Jolie did a great job at portraying the tragic life of this supermodel. I can't think of a better pick of actress to play this role, the bad-girl type. She did a marvelous and beautiful job as Gia. What a tragedy to have lost such a beautiful girl.

Summary: this movie changed my life
Review: Angelina Jolie, first of all, is the most talented and beautiful actress to ever live. i say and feel that with every part of my being. this movie showed everyone just how incredible she is. acually, i'm sitting here, trying to find the words to describe her and this movie, and i'm speechless. Gia simply came alive. and, Elizabeth Mitchell was amazing. i felt all of their emotions. Gia and Linda's relationship was the most beautiful i've ever seen portrayed. it was so real and heart-breaking. i am forever changed.

Summary: Heartbreak in the city of brotherly love
Review: I'm the same age as Gia, and consequently remember many of the covers she appeared on. In fact, my college roommate had one stapled to the wall above his desk. This movie was greatly disturbing to me because while viewing it, I kept wanting to reach out and help her. Angelina Jolie was utterly convincing in every facet of the film. Few films leave me wanting to know more, but this one certainly did. I hesitate to call this a great film, but if films are made to stir emotion, and introspection then it is certainly worth viewing.

Summary: See this movie if you can...
Review: This is the saddest movie I ever saw. I saw it when it was on HBO (it's a HBO original movie), so they kept showing it few times. But this movie is so sad, I was only able to watch it once.
