Summary: Nothing can compare...
Review: to Nikita, Michael, Walter, Operations, Madeline, Berkoff, and everyone else. This series was a true gem in a sea of television's usual...shows. Imaginative, inspiring, romantic, and trendy ~ one episode is all it takes to get hooked in to the world of Section One. The character development was splendid, the story lines brilliant, and the overall feel dark and sleek and sexy. It has it all. Peta Wilson is the stunningly beautiful Nikita - with long legs and a collection of sunglasses and a look that every woman wishes for. Roy Dupuis stars as Michael, the seeming cold but truly sensitive secret agent whose look is enough to melt any woman's heart.

No review can truly express the brilliance which was La Femme Nikita. However, for those fans dedicated to the series, our VHS tapes have long since worn out and we live for the day this is released on DVD. And perhaps, then, a whole new generation of fans will discover the magic of LFN.

Summary: La Femme Nikita: The Best Action/Espionage Series on TV
Review: "This television show was a work of absolute genius. The acting was extraordinary, the action intense, the direction and production design dazzlingly modern and possessing stylishness so well-thought-out that it'll likely remain 'contemporary' for decades to come...

"La Femme Nikita" is, in my opinion, the best action/espionage series on television ever. I watched it beginning with the Fall 1997 season, catching up with season 1 in reruns from midnight ET on, through the bittersweet end in 2001. When USA Network moved it to 1 a.m. ET, I followed it. When it was shown at 2 a.m. ET, I followed it. I have every episode on VHS taped from my own television. But it's on now at 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. ET. And my tapes, being rewound and rewatched, over and over, will someday break down and disintegrate, like the recording tape in the original "Mission Impossible."

DVDs are essential for both fans and new viewers of "LFN." We must have high-quality digital format, boxed series of all five seasons, including bloopers, background interviews, outtakes, and anything else one can convince Warner Brothers, USA Network, and Fireworks to release.

The demand for the DVDs is burning on the internet from viewers in over 50 countries worldwide. Thousands of participants in message boards crave them. They eagerly await boxed DVDs with everything on them. They have followed the suspense, the high-stakes romance, the complex ambiguity, the superlative fashions, the original and scored amazing music (the best sound tracks I've ever heard on TV), the artful film-quality photography, the visual and sound editing--and, above all, the acting--from Roy Dupuis (among the most formidable actors of his generation in any language) and Peta Wilson and Eugene Robert Glazer and Don Francks and Alberta Watson and Matthew Ferguson--all members of the principal cast, and from Lawrence Bayne, Carlo Rota, Colm Feore, and other fine supporting actors--the writing by such wordsmiths as Michael Loceff, Peter Lenkov, Naomi Janzen, Robert Cochran, and Lawrence Hertzog--the directing by René Bonnière, T. J. Scott, and Joel Surnow (executive consultant to this series, as before to "Miami Vice" and later to the current hit series "24"), and #506's directorial debut by Roy Dupuis, just to name some of these talented directors. This series is not to be missed. But in order to see it in its entirety, most people need DVDs. While those involved have moved on to other projects, longtime fans of the show are still devoted to watching it. Short of reviving the series, only boxed sets of DVDs of the entire five seasons will satisfy already-devoted fans and reel in new afficionadoes of "La Femme Nikita."

With the soon-to-be finished book by the assistant to the executive consultants Christopher Heyn, entitled "Inside Section One: The Unofficial Guide to TV's 'La Femme Nikita'" (which will be the definitive book on the series, including an exhaustive glossary of terms used in it), these DVDs will be essential to own. There is a good chance also that they will become companion "texts" in college courses in media and writing for television. Given the events of September 11th and subsequently, the series revealing the activities of the secret anti-terrorist organization that is Section One and those who worked and loved within it was downright prophetic. It isn't merely current, it is au courant and still way ahead of its time.

(Just updating, to say how pleased I am that the DVD box set of Season 1 will finally be released on July 8th, 2003, and that everyone needs to buy it to encourage WB to release subsequent seasons on DVD too! As an enthusiastic viewer of "24," which I also admire, I am also pointing out that, in my book, "LFN" is still "number 1.")

Summary: Superb Noir Highly Developed Characters
Review: La Femme Fantastique!
This series is unique, and well worth owning on DVD. Unlike the banal witty dialog in all of today's action series...this one was quite different and pleasing. Finely emotionally nuanced so that communication takes place by a glance or a turn of the head. Astonishing use of silence, and mood, and music. This series is the antidote for all other series where everything is conveyed via dialog and nothing by character development. An organization dedicated to public good, but using evil techniques. Are its principals evil themselves or simply amoral? Characters have everything money can buy, but freedom or individual destiny. Nikita herself flourishes at Section, and is redeemed from a meaningless life on the streets..but is this redemption worth it? Does she lose herself or find herself? The moral contradictions alone are spellbinding. I recommend following director Joel Surnow's work ("24") for similar production values. Pray they continue and offer Season 2,3,4 on DVD....

Summary: Best acting and production ensemble ever !
Review: La Femme Nikita (the series) is the best TV show I have seen in years. I have taped all episodes (Season 1 - 5) and am still watching all re-runs on TV. The entire cast (Peta Wilson, Roy Dupuis, Eugene Robert Glazer, Alberta Watson, Don Franks, Matthew Ferguson) have done a tremendous job to create strong chemistry between each character.

The producers, Joe Surnow and Robert Cochran (producers of "24") have created plots and turns that keep viewers on the edge of their seats. The music by Sean Callery and costumes by Laurie Drew created a hype new look for the TV series.

La Femme Nikita DVD set is a must own, must see collectors' item!

Summary: Can't wait for Season 2-5
Review: Long time fan of the televison series. It was the reason I started to subscribe to cable t.v.!!!!!
It is sophisticated, artistic, soul searching work of art. In the same category as The Prisoner and The Avengers.
Highly recommended.

Summary: There should be more than 5 stars for series like this one!
Review: Based on over 200 reviews, the average customer review for this series keeps his high "5 STARS"! It says it all, this is a VERY good show!

Honestly, when I bought Season 1 of LFN, I got it mainly for my very favorite actor, Roy Dupuis. I've watched every television series with him in it, whether in English or French and I was never disappointed. In my opinion, he is an excellent and brilliant actor!

But I learned to love Peta Wilson in her role of Nikita, and also all the rest of the cast of Section 1. I am so happy that they have finally decided to have Season 2 for sale in July 2004! Words can't describe how excited I am of this great news! Thanks, and PLEASE keep them coming!

Summary: Visit Section One anytime- without risking cancellation.
Review: This DVD set is such a wise investment for the true Nikita fan. I knew I'd enjoy these DVDs and actually purchased them before I even had a DVD player. Little did I know just how much I would love them! For me, this set meant no longer searching through my pile of VHS tapes to find an episode (which was often blurry and littered with commercial breaks anyway). It's the possibility to escape to section one for as long as you like, though watching one episode usually leads to watching 3 or 4 more (they seem much more intense without commercials).

The deleted scenes and commentary are truly appreciated, especially those that offer insight into character relations (I personally enjoy when Nikita offers Michael a drink of water...). There is no doubt in my mind that I am satisfied with my purchase (I'm quite tempted to buy a second set in case something goes wrong with this one). It is also certain that I will be purchasing season 2 the very day it is in stores.

A BIG thank you to those who made these DVDs possible. This includes all of the fans and all of the executives who help produce these DVD sets.

Review: Now with all the terrorist activity at our door, this series proved to really be ahead of its time. It is extremely well done and very entertaining. Recommend it highly!
I am waiting for the other seasons to become available on DVD. I could watch this show over and over again.
