Summary: The best show on TV, and yes, I do watch the Sopranos
Review: Honestly, I'm more excited for the THIRD season (arguably the best so far, with, I think, the best season closer), and season two is probably my least favorite of the three seasons so far. BUT, the show was still great, and within the context of the series, essential viewing.

A good deal of season two is devoted to setting up the action for season three (For instance, the introduction of Lisa, Brenda's actions, David and Keith's relationship, etc), so it sometimes feels like more of a build-up than a payoff (especially in retrospect). In fact, one of the main storylines is left in suspense til the season three opener. But the remainder of these plots still remain entertaining and do have closure in one sense or another. And of course, there's still plenty of entertaing dead-person-of-the-episode plots keeping things fresh.

Overall, the second season, despite it's sophomore year faults, is still some of the best that television has to offer, and a must-have for any fan.

Summary: FINALLY!
Review: Six Feet Under is one of the best shows I have seen, with the exception of the third season, and finally, I can add the second season to my collection. The second season is much like the first season, interpersonal reations exposed through conversations with the deceased patrons of their establishment, sex, lies, the usual and unusual. The third season went horribly wrong between the first and thirteenth episodes, when they walked away from the formula that worked, but successfully regained composure in the end. For issues like homosexuality, corporation take over, death, life, sex, career, the cast tries to find their way through the world. This is a very good show and well worth paying to watch, except the third season, take a nap through that.

Summary: 6 feet under and 24 months later
Review: I have nothing but disdain for the greedy way in which HBO has held off from releasing Six Feet Under season 2. (I rated the DVD 5 stars simply because of the content of the season in general). If you look at the timely fashion in which Sex in the City, The Sopranos and OZ has been released on video/DVD then it becomes all the more apparent that HBO is milking this series way beyond what it has got. Considering what we all pay to get HBO (all garbage with the exception of 3 of their original series - they still play 80's movies like "Guess Who's Talking" a couple times a week) plus the costs of either renting or owning the seasons a couple years after HBO has toyed with the public I can't fathom that they haven't satisfied their immense appetite for greed. I wish I could boycott this show somehow but Hollywood has worked its greedy magic once again and we are left to pay. It is unfortunate considering we already paid to see the show years ago. Looks like I will unfortunately being paying to see it yet again.

Summary: Television Without Pity
Review: Still waiting for the release of seasons 2 & 3 on DVD, and too scared to download them from file sharing sites? I'd recommend reading the synopses of the episodes on Television Without Pity .com. The synopses on this site are quite often better than the shows themselves.

Summary: To long a wait.. Time just to say "ENOUGH"
Review: I'm posting this with the hopes that the $$$ grubbers at HBO might get a clue. I'm American, but live in Spain so any HBO subscription is out the question for me. However, I'm more than willing to pay the (IMHO overpriced to start with) $$$ to order the second season of SFU on DVD. Afer patiently waiting for the past 7 months or so, I've had it. I'm going to be forking over the $$$ for other (non HBO) series instead of SFU. I know I'm just one customer and the loss of my $$$ certainly won't cause the execs at HBO to have to drop their country club memberships, but someone has gotta make a stand. Maybe if we, the customers, finally so "NO" to being the money pawns of big business, then they will get a clue because it will hit them where it counts - in the corporate wallet.

Sigh....
