Summary: Stargate SG-1 is #1
Review: I now have all four seasons. Even though the series is shown on Sci Fi Channel on Monday nights, it is still better to be able to pull out the season packs and pick and choose the episode I want to watch. Eventually when it is no longer being shown in reruns I will still be able to watch it at my desire. I rate this right up there with STNG which I am trying to buy up all 7 seasons also. I would recommend this to anyone, If you have never seen of the series then are you in for a treat. I put it on my big screen TV and kick back the recliner and I am in heaven.

Summary: Stargate SG-1(Super Great One!)
Review: Stargate SG-1 stars the charming and talented Richard Dean Anderson as Colonel Jack O'Neil. This movie basically picks off where the Kurt Russell/James Spader one left off. Colonel O'Neil is once again called out of retirement to enter the stargate, fight some mean alien warriors and save the universe!

The cast is top notch, with Anderson at his witty, sarcastic best. The action insequences are great sci-fi fun. The only drawback was that it has an R-rating, for nudity. I believe it was unnecessary and added no depth to the scenes. But overall, it is a great film(althought not for the kids). If you are a Richard Dean Anderson fan ( and who isn't?) you are sure to enjoy this movie. So run..hurry..go buy it - NOW!!

Review: While I heartily recommend that anyone with an interest in Sci-fi take a look at this amazing series, I would strongly recommend that you do so with the currently available first-season boxed set from MGM. This is the first disc from that set, and includes the first four episodes of the series. The disc itself is excellent, and the second disc is also available seperately, but currently the last 3 discs in the set are not available as such. Excellent stories and characters. Get the season 1 boxed set!

Summary: Ignore Tom MaCoy's Review...
Review: This person seems to be forgetting the most important fact about this movie. Namely that it is made for television as a launching point for the tv series. So, of course, it's not going to compare with the original film which was a theatrical release. I am a huge fan of Stargate SG-1, and this film was by far the best two-hour pilot I've seen for any television series. Yeah, it doesn't cover a heckuva lot of new ground from the original "Stargate", but I believe that is one of it's strengths, as it allows those who are unfamiliar with the original film to understand what is going on. In closing, if you enjoy an excellent sci-fi story, get this film. It's well worth it.

Summary: WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?!
Review: I'll say this bluntly. This "movie" is horrible. Beyond horrible. It is a heinous crime against both humanity and the original movie. Probably the most disappointing sequel ever made. The original movie was spectacular; now we get this. So where do I start? Well, to its credit, Richard Dean Anderson (who I loved as MacGyver) does alright, and the actor who replaces James Spader could be a lot worse. Of course, to counterbalance this, the "story" introduces a new stereotypical female scientist character, who has to make stereotypical remakes to stereotypical hard nosed military guys. I was sick of her by her third scene, and the fact that she happened to be a lousy actor didn't help. The story itself is a washed out extension of the original, claiming that there are more aliens like Ra around, even though it was mentioned in the original that he was the last member of a dying race. These aliens also, are changed from appearing as an eerie bright light (remember the first scene in the original?) to this sick looking eyeless snake thing the squeals like a burst air hose and sits in slits in peoples stomachs before choosing a host. Oh yeah, and on the first new planet they visit, they're taken for gods. Again. The special effects could be worse, but really become lousy compared to the original. There, the enemies masks folded neatly away in a complex sequences of movements that looked darn cool. Here, we get guys dressed as snakes with masks that pop open like a spring loaded snake-in-the-can, and close like bear traps. They look ridicules (the head seems to be built three times as wide as the shoulders), and they look cheap. Very cheap. Even the pulse rifles, the single coolest thing in the original, look... recycled. So, crappy story, fairly lousy special effects, several annoying characters (the female scientist tops the list, but the new general and the new bad guy are up there to). Is there anything worth seeing in this movie? The answer is no. The only questing I have is who anyone in or out of their right mind could possibly like it.

Summary: The show is great!
Review: Stargate SG-1 is probably the best sci-fi series on TV today. It's great to have all the 1st season episodes together in the box set. The only complaint I have is the quality of the transfer to the DVD Format. I have to say, I think they could have done a better job. It's not widesreen, but it's sometimes choppy and the audio isn't always synchronized. But this still doesn't diminish how great the show is. The best writing and FX. And the fact that it's set in our time, with our level of technology, makes it that much more believable. Makes you want to go out to Cheyenne Mountain, go down to Level 28 and have a look around.

Review: The best movie ever, Richard Dean Anderson carries on a very skillful role as Col. Jack O'neal kinda like MacGyver. LOL

Summary: Amazing Movie! Totally Worth It!
Review: Granted I saw the video after I was hooked on the t.v. program, but I love this movie! It's great for giving you the background information for the show, but it's also fun to watch again and again. The dynamics between the different characters is hilarious, and some one of the one-liners are unbelievable. Anyone who watched MacGyver will get a kick out of seeing Richard Dean Anderson in this role, and all the Sci-Fi people will enjoy the Science stuff. It's a great movie and I would highly recommend it to anyone.
