Summary: Uninspired choice of music
Review: This is the one Sesame Street dvd that doesn't get played a lot at our house.
Other than "C is for Cookie", and "Rubber Duckie", nothing else is particularly memorable, and doesn't hold the attention.
The songs are shortened in many cases, and we often pass this one over for 123 Count with Me.
It's not as good as I hoped it would be, but probably a blast from the past from people who have been watching Sesame Street over the years.
For people who have not religiously followed the show for the past 25 years, it's not a good choice, but older fans will probably buy it for the nostalgia.

Summary: Cute songs and not too much Elmo
Review: I bought this video for my son because he couldn't get enough of another Sesame Street video (123 Count with Me). He really enjoys this one as well. This may be the best Sesame Street video out there so far. It has enough older clips and songs and includes newer characters as well - and it doesn't go overboard on the amount of Elmo. I can actually remember a lot of these songs from when I used to watch Sesame Street.

This is a good video for a child who likes songs and music. Not all of the Sesame Street videos have as much music and are more dialogue. Because there is more music it appeals to younger viewers more than some of the other videos out there (my son is 19 months old).

Enjoy!

Summary: Disappointing
Review: I grew up on Sesame Street and the Muppets and thought this would be a great DVD for my 18 mos old. But I thought the song selection was terrible. Really disappointing!

Summary: Great Fun
Review: I bought this DVD for my 4 month old son because we don't get Sesame Street where we live. He just loves it. He loves to have conversations with Big Bird, Telly, and Prarie Dawn as they put on a show.

His favorite song is "I love Trash" sung by Oscar the Grouch. My son gets very excited about the Rubber Ducky Medly and though I wish the songs had not been shortened he likes it and that is what matters to me.

He didn't like the fuzzy dancing creatures, they scared him and I have to skip to the next song but the rest is a lot of fun for both of us. I find myself singing those songs to him even when the video is not on.

Summary: Great Fun
Review: I bought this for my 4 month old son because we don't get Sesame Street where we live. He loves to talk to Big Bird and I have fun remembering the songs I grew up on.

Though he is 4 months old I know that he will enjoy this movie as he grows up.

His favorite song is "I love Trash" sung by Oscar the Grouch. His eyes light up and he giggles.

Summary: A hit with the grownups, too!
Review: I am not ashamed to admit that I really love this video. Yeah, we bought it for our baby, who happens to adore it too. But this video has a way of growing on you, and I find myself leaving it on even after the baby has gone to bed. The puppetry is amazing, and some of the techniques they used years ago are still cool today. "Count it Higher" has some of the funniest, most creative hand puppet moves you'll ever see. Puts Baby Einstein to shame. Some of the numbers must be twenty years old, but they still look fresh. You can tell someone put a lot of care and thought into each shot. The new stuff is pretty good, too.

The songs have some of the funniest, most memorable lyrics, and for awhile, singing "I Love Trash" to baby was the only way to get her to eat. I've memorized most of the songs.

I guess if I enjoyed these songs as a kid, and now enjoy them again as a parent, and now my baby enjoys them, that makes them classics. This is a wonderful DVD.

Summary: a hit with our family!
Review: My 18 month old daughter LOVES this DVD! She first watched it when she was 10 months old and loved it then too. Now we own it and she asks to watch it all the time.

If your kid has a specific affinity for the new characters (Zoe, Elmo, Rosita, etc) they might be disappointed. Elmo has a very small role in the show. Zoe and Rosita's parts are completely insignificant. (Basically you can see them in the back ground.)

But it does have all the classics "C is for Cookie", "I love trash", "rubber duckie" etc. Bert, Ernie, Oscar, Big Bird, Cookie, the Count, Telly, Prairie Dawn, The Amazing Mumfort, and others in this one. A very 80's En Vogue sings a song on it.

Summary: Money well spent
Review: This video is fantastic. My kids love it. To the point that they play it over and over again.
Of course they don't like all the songs that are on the video but 90% of them are their favorites.
When I first read the many reviews that people posted on this website regarding this particular video I couldn't believed it why they were so much in love. Now I know. There is a lot of singing. Kids by nature love music, they love singing and when it comes to their favorite character it's much better. This video is worthy the money. Your kids will love it.

Summary: Wonderful, great, entertaining can I say more.
Review: My son starting watching this video at 5 months old. This is the only video that he will sit for from beginning to end. We have seen it so many times it is now stuck in my VCR. I know when I finally get it out it will be ruined so I just ordered the DVD version. When the songs come on the TV show Sesame Street my son stops whatever he is doing to watch them. He just loves the songs and all the characters.
