Rating: Summary: A whole lot of fun Review: My 18mo. old and I watch this a couple times a week. She loves the music and I do too. There is even a little humor in there for the grown-ups. However if you are buying this hoping to see of a lot of Elmo -don't, he isn't in it that much.
Rating: Summary: Not enough Elmo Review: I was very disappointed that Elmo was largely lacking from this video, despite the title. My 18-month-old daughter is only interested in him and is bored by this because he is such an infrequent sight in it. It's mostly a star turn for grown-up celebs. I loved the Fugees song, but my daughter couldn't have cared less.
Rating: Summary: Great for kids and parents Review: My 16-month-old dances along with the songs, but my wife and I enjoy some of the music, too. It's hilarious to see performers like The Fugees, En Vogue, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, and Jimmy Buffett singing alongside Sesame Street characters. Five stars for holding my baby's attention span for a surprisingly long time (30-45 mins), while not driving the parents crazy!
Rating: Summary: Excellent. It stoped my daughter dead in her tracks. Review: This is the best video even for babies. Nyssa sat adn watched the whole thing all the way through and then wandered off to play. she was about 6 monthes when we got this tape. she is now about to hit the big one and still loves it
Rating: Summary: Not the best from Sesame Street Review: We have no less than 10 other Sesame Street DVD's starring Elmo and other various characters. This is the most disappointing one we have bought. It is not similar to the others or the show. The music video portions of this DVD don't have songs that are as catchy as the typical Elmo/Sesame St. songs. My 18 month old twins lose interest when the songs come on...the opposite of the other DVD's. Also, the plot line is a little lame with the stars locked in the dressing room and lost in a limo. Couldn't they have made better use of the talented actors and artists that volunteered for this? Wish I had rented it before buying.
Rating: Summary: Fun for all ages Review: My kids (13 months and 4) really enjoy this video. My 4 year old knows all the songs by heart and performs them even when the movie isn't playing.
While not very educational, I don't rely on the TV to educate my children. That's my job and the job of my 4 yr. old's preschool. The creative aspect in my daughter singing the songs and making up her own dances more than makes up for the lack of "education" in the video. Education is found in the strangest places and doesn't have to be "in your face."
My 13 month old also loves the video. He dances to the music and in between takes a break because he really lets out some energy in his dancing!
This movie is also enjoyable for parents. There is some humor injected in it that will make you chuckle - not the kids. It's not "adult" humor, but humor an older child could understand or an adult. I really appreciate it!
If you're looking for this movie to teach your children their ABC's, move on. If you're just looking for plain old fun for kids of all ages, this movie is for you.
Rating: Summary: Rent it Before You Buy It Review: Our family has an embarassingly large collection of Elmo and Sesame Street DVDs, so I speak from experience... I found this production to be way below par. My 2 1/2 year old son picked it out at the video store and we got through maybe :10 minutes before he volunteered to turn it off and do Play-Doh instead. The plot if poorly contrived, the production value is low, the acting for the most part is awful, and it's basically just a way to stitch together a series of music videos which at his age, my son has no interest in. He did like the part where the muppets try to break open the dressing room with a jack hammer. But I'm not buying the video for a 12 second clip. Better bets: A Celebration of Me, Grover or Sesame Street: The Street We Live On.
Rating: Summary: More like MTV for toddlers than sesame street Review: I just rented this video for my 14 month old daughter. I was disappointed with the 4 dollars I spent on it for that. It is more like a music video than a story. The segments are of adults, no children singing or playing and the story line isn't much. Sure my daughter swayed along with the music but there wasn't anything educational about this video and I am so glad I didn't buy it. I really limited my daughters exposure to tv and this was the first video we ever left her watch and now I'm sorry that we did even that. Stick with the sesame street tv program or prescreen other dvds before you buy. I hope this helps you from being as disappointed as we were.

Rating: Summary: My daughter loves the songs... Review: My one year old is addicted to Elmo. We'll have to find her a 12-step program because my 4 year old wants to watch other things. But the TWO of them will gladly watch this and DANCE, DANCE, DANCE. I'm glad that I was not swayed by the reviews that said the kids would not like this DVD because my kids love it. Probably because they love all kinds of music. Because my daughter loves Elmo, the one song "I want a monster to be my friend" is just perfect!!! We sing it all the time.
