Summary: I wish they would release this DVD
Review: My five children and I saw this on TV many, many years ago and loved it. I finally was able to purchase a VHS copy to share with some of my grandchildren. Now, I desperately want a copy for all of them, because it teaches good things, it has great music and the animation is delightful. I definitely rate it FIVE STARS, and would give it more if possible. Let the makers of this excellent video know that I will need at least ten (10) copies.

Summary: Finally!
Review: I saw this movie many, many years ago, and it was one of the best animated movies I have ever seen. I have been searching for years to find it on video, and now my wait is over (almost).

The point of the movie is - well, you'll have to watch it to understand the point. It was so very entertaining to me as an adult, and I believe it would be so for youngsters as well. And if you miss the point, or if the movie bores you, the music alone is worth listening to.

What a wonderful treat to see this movie available!

Summary: One of the most important albums/movies in my life
Review: When I was a boy, I recieved the record album of The Point. It was my moms favorite album that she passed along to me. She liked it so much, she almost named me Arrow. Of course, being named Oblio would've been cool as well. I used to listen to it every day. (It was actually Harry Nilsson narrating it inbetween songs and not Ringo.) The songs are great, and the story is exactly what a child needs to hear. It's a simple message: Be yourself, be different, and be proud of it. I'm grateful my mother gave me such a wonderful gift. Now I'm grown up, and Mom has passed away, but still break the LP out here & there. It means so much to me. I bought the movie on VHS when it was re-released, and will definitely buy the DVD. I've played it for my kids several times. Of course, their attention spans are not like mine when I was young, but I feel it is something that needs to be watched/heard by a child in his/her formative years. BUY THIS.

Summary: I can't tell you how long I've waited...
Review: ...for this to be available on DVD! This is one of my fondest childhood memories! We had this soundtrack on vinyl, and I would listen to it until the record grooves practically wore out. Probably a little dated, and one of those Baby Boomer era "feel good about being different" stories, but a crowd pleaser nonetheless. The Point has memorable songs that even as a 30-something I remember all the lyrics. Highly recommended, and more so if you love Harry Nilsson. PS- This is *NOT* purely for the Beatle-brigade, this is a "kidlish" story that Ringo just happened to be a part of...try it, you'll like it!

Summary: Remember when you were a kid?
Review: A few years ago (I lie it was in the 90's (or was it the late 80's)) my brother called me into the TV room (the local channel was playing the Point) and said you had to see this. I went in and within a few seconds I REMEMBERED when I was somewhere between 5 and 6 when the local high school did the play (I think it was the year before they did the hobbit). And all it took was just a few bars and I was lost in memories. I still can't hear a few seconds of me and my arrow without getting choked up. If you were a kid in the 60's or early 70's PLEASE HELP TO GET THIS ON DVD!!! I know of a few video stores in obscure places that have the VCR, but its getting old and crinkly. PLEASE RERELEASE THIS SO WE CAN HAVE THIS FOR OUR KIDS AND OUR KIDS KIDS!!!

Summary: Did YOU get The Point? HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
Review: I LOVE this movie!!! I would recommend this classic cartoon to ANYONE, young or old. I saw it once in the 80's, and never forgot it. It's hard to find, but WELL WORTH IT!!! You can get it here and one other well known auction sitE BecAuse everYone knows it's a great, rare, classic movie. It has a great narration by Ringo Starr of the Beatles, it's written by Harry Nilsson, and the voice of the little boy "Oblio" is voiced by the boy who played Bobby Brady. This movie has made such an impact in my life that, even though I haven't seen it in MANY years, I can still here the song in my head every now and then when something triggers a memory cord. Buy it anywhere, buy it cheap, be sure it has its original box art and is in good viewing quality, watch it, love it, and pass it along. You will not regret the purchase.

Summary: More Than It Seems...
Review: I first saw "The Point" when I was very young, probably about 2 or 3 years old. Back then, I just thought it was a funny movie with catchy songs. Now, 15 years later, I watch it and see much more. This movie is a lesson in tolerance and understanding disguised with cute cartoon characters. Don't care much for movies teaching morals? The songs are a lot of fun too! How catchy are they? Before I bought this movie about a month ago, I hadn't seen it in at least 10 years, but I still remembered every word of every song! Forgive the bad pun, but the point is that this movie is a piece of classic animation with a message that will still be relevant no matter what point in your life you watch the movie.

Summary: Every household should own it.
Review: I first saw this on T.V. in the early 70's when it came out and have never forgotten it. It has a lesson everyone should learn. Anyone with children should own this video and the album.

Summary: A very pointed story
Review: I loved this when I first saw it in 1971 and have just tried to purchase it. Having it on DVD would be perfect. The simplicity and songs that can be enjoyed by children coupled with the levels of interpretation that can appeal to adults is just so enjoyable. I have the album (yes, vinyl). Oblio and Arrow and their adventures in the Pointed Forest, encounters the Pointed Man and Rock Man are a journey all ages can enjoy. I highly recommend it.
