Summary: The price really isn't that bad!
Review: I absolutely love Sex and the City and look forward to watching it every Sunday night. I do admit that when I first noticed the price of the box set, I was a bit surprised, but seriously the price isn't that bad. Yes, it's only 8 episodes, but that's basically what I am paying HBO right now every month to watch 4 episodes, considering you get 4 episodes a month, so just think of it that you are getting 4 episodes for free!! Makes me feel better!!!

Summary: So disappointing
Review: I'm huge fan of this series and even pre-ordered depite those critics about expensive price.

Now I'm so sad to see this season. They are not funny anymore. Not enough number of episode is bearable, but not enough fun is unbearable. They look pathetic. Especially Carrie. I even hate her a bit when she met Big. Nothing's so crisp like before.

Maybe you can skip this season. There's not much story going. I wonder how's 6th season after this disastrous 5th season. I don't watch them on TV so I have to wait till it's released.

Summary: Listen to yourselves!
Review: OK, This is a TV show. EN-TER-TAIN-MENT. How deep does it have to be??? I'm always so anxious for the next season of SATC to be released, especially since I haven't had HBO for a couple of years now, but I hesitated this year due to the reviews here. I wish there were more than 8 episodes, but there aren't. I wish the girls weren't aging, but I also wish I wasn't. I decided since I had paid full price for Season 1 back in the day (I was thrilled to do so) that I could fork over the money for this short season. I wanted to see what you all were talking about and to have a complete set of the series, of course. So, five months earlier than usual, I picked up the latest season... (for $10 less than I paid for short season 1) I guess you see where I'm going here. I'm a fan, I bought it. I say if you're even considering buying Season Five, then you're a fan and probably own the first four seasons. Go on and get it. You know you want to, just like me. I will say that some of the material seemed much cornier than usual to me, but I truly wonder how much of that was due to my being influenced by some of these reviews. There were some great moments too, and I watched the final episode twice in a row (2nd time with director's commentary). Basically, it's four hours of entertainment for about the same price as two movies. Not that bad, really. Lighten up and enjoy!!

Summary: Too much money for so little!
Review: I am a HUGE fan of Sex and the City... I own the first four seasons and watch them all the time! But when I found out the the fifth season only had 8 episodes and cost the same amount as all the others... I was shocked! There is no way I would ever pay that much for such a small amount of episodes. I'm patiently waiting for the price to go down to at least [$] if it doesn't get lowered, I won't buy it, which makes me so sad. :( But I still love the show!!! :)

Summary: Surprised at the cost
Review: First, I want to say that I am a big fan of the series and am predisposed to purchasing the DVD set, BUT, the cost just sticks in my craw.

Unlike many other reviewers, I enjoyed the seasons shows and was disappointed that there were so few.

What really gets me is the producers of the fifth season have decided to stick it to the most loyal fans of the series by charging the same price for fewer then half the number of episodes.

Very shady business practices. I don't think it is the financial best interests of the people who make these DVD's to alienate the people most likely to buy the damn things.

I for one refuse to be ripped off.

Summary: going down the hill badly
Review: the complete 5th season is a pathetic melodrama. so pathetic that you might think it was a tragedy. with my wife, we sat thru it but didn't enjoy it a bit. there's no fun at all now but 4 pathetic aged women tried to get laid. my god, they were so desparately and blindly ridiculous. i just don't know how to describe it. is this a comedy? definitely not. it's a farce with a tragedy dose. now, these four women (especially the older three) really look old and ugly. they just want to use men as their sex machines, their human dildos. there's nothing deep or funny anymore. forget about it, guys.

Summary: RIPPED OFF!!!!!
Review: I FEEL COMPLETELY RIPPED OFF!!!!

Only eight episodes for the price of a full season, What a bargain.

If you buy this season beware your only getting eight episodes. I only whish I had known before I spent my hard earned money.

Summary: Stop Your Whinning!
Review: People that are B*$%^#$ about the price need to stop. No one forced them to go out and buy it...you bought, so deal with it. I first got addicted to SATC when I received season three as a b-day gift, and let me tell you that it has been the best gift ever. I have bought all the other seasons since then, including the fifth season. Yes, it's not like the others, but it's still good. You gotta think beyond the other seasons...they have differerent life styles now that they are older so you gotta expect something different.

Summary: Should cost $19.99
Review: I am an avid fan who owns season 1-4, however, I refuse to purchase season 5 for the list price. How can you go from 18 shows in season 4 to 8 shows in season 5 and still charge the same amount? That's ridiculous! I'll tape the reruns!!

Summary: Sexy Ladies rule the screen
Review: Once again HBO did an amazing job with the 5'th season of Sex and the City. This is shorter than usual, however, it is worth the money.
