Summary: When Your Heart Is Open Wide....
Review: ...then everything *truly* is music. This wonderful video is teaching my 2-year old son, *and* re-reminding me of the beautiful simplicity of ordinary objects around us. It awakens the imagination to how these common materials can be used and played with in new and unusual ways. I delight in watching my son pat-pat-pat on tables with wooden spoons or tinker toy sticks. He has even created his own musical instrument by taking a can, filling it with rocks and shaking it, yelling, "moo-sik!" - with no probing from me. To think of the money I have spent on 'real' musical instruments. Completely fun, totally foot-stomping, AND educational entertainment for all ages. As an aside, those Stomp cast members are not only extremely talented, but pretty darn cute to look upon!! In my opinion, one of the best in Sesame Street videos.

Summary: Stomp!! Jump!! They'll love it!!
Review: A combination of education, imagination and the genius of STOMP!
My 17 month old adores the finale! The STOMP musicians make music with everything from tic tacs to garbage cans (Oscar wasn't too happy of course!). It is simply a wonderful combination of typical Sesame Street learning and the creativity of STOMP. I think everyone will enjoy this tape more than once...even the parents (which can sometimes be difficult as we all know!). A very fun, energetic video!! This video is a must!

Summary: Disappointed
Review: Bought this movie for my one year old. I was very disappointed in the human actors that were chosen for this video. The male actors had earrings and other piercings that I thought were offensive and should have no role in a child's video. What is our world coming to? Shame on you Seasame Street!

Summary: Inventive and fun
Review: Cast members from Stomp ! and characters from Sesame Street demonstrate that music, and particularly percussion, can be made and found everywhere. Combining the Sesame Street habitat with animation and live-action video tape keeps the pace moving. The variety of musical experiences is remarkable. We see hand-clapping games and drumming by children, chanting,pot-and-pan banging, as well as Stomp cast-members' inventive use of everyday objects that include balls, paper bags and huge oil drums. There's a wonderful sequence that choreographs cracking eggs and slamming doors. It's a terrific tape and our 2-year old has gotten a lot from it.

One word of advice for those with younger kids. You may need to use your fast-forward button at times as some sections are perhaps too talky but that depends on your kid of course.

Summary: Not just for the little ones! It's a family favorite!
Review: Hurray for Sesame Street! They've made yet another video that appeals to all ages. Like many toddlers, the children in our household tend to watch the same video over and over and over again. They seem to thrive on repetition which is wonderful for their learning and growing (albeit sometimes a little irritating for the "older" family members). By including the rythmic geniuses of the Stomp! crew, they've managed to capture the attention and creativity of the toddlers and entertain the rest of the family as well.

Their use of simple, everyday objects as musical instruments was particularly appealing, especially in these days of heavy commercialism. We also enjoyed the dancing and the familiar Sesame Street characters. This video invites participation so there's no need to worry about the "couch potato effect."

"Let's Make Music" is our family favorite!

Summary: Good for children
Review: I bought this video because my two litle nieces wanted to see it; the minute we've received this video I sat down with them to watch it......they loved it!!! specially since "STOMP" and the sesame street gang are creating all these diferent sounds and noises because poor tilly lost his musical instrument and they're teaching him how to make music with objects that we have @ home. My nieces were clapping, singing, and just trying to sing to the video. If you have litle kids around the house I highly recommend it to buy it.....it's a really cute video for kids and educational too.

Summary: What Great Musical Fun!!
Review: I love this video! How can you go wrong with Sesame Street, Stomp, and music?!? I'll tell ya, you can't. I brought it home and put it on and even my husband sat down and watched it. My 1 year old isn't quite ready to sit down and watch the whole thing, but he sure does love to dance when the all the music starts up! What a great way to intoduce young children to the joys and magic of music!

Summary: Great Fun
Review: My daughter just turned 1 and loves Sesame Street. This particular video is her favorite (and I think mine too.) Every time we play the video and she sees Ernie play the "Outmeal Box" song, she gets her Outmeal box and plays along. This video is charming, educational and just down right fun.

Summary: our babies are addicted -- but in a good way
Review: The cast of Stomp is a great addition to this DVD. My daughter fell in love with it the first time we watched it and asks for it repeatedly. More importantly, it is not overly annoying to adults.

How I rated this DVD:
* Educational value. Since buying this DVD my daughter has become very interested in making her own music. I have found her stomping, making drums from rubbermade containers, and trying to blow in bottles. She is only 20 months old and I think this is very impressive since we have only had the tape a few weeks.
* Entertaining to child. Keeps her entertained through the whole video.
* Entertaining to adults. I can even watch the tape with her and not become mindlessly numb.
* The DVD starts right at the menu. No annoying commercials to sit through.
* Cost. The video did not break the budget. It was reasonably priced.
