Summary: That'll be $20 Mr. Douglas!
Review: As a fan of the show when it was new, then again on re-runs, and finally on Nick & TV Land, I can honestly say that I have enjoyed this release more than any other DVD set that I own. PLEASE RELEASE THE OTHER 5 YEARS! You can even be like Mr. Haney and charge me a "premium"! I can hardly wait to have the episode where Arnold Ziffle has a crush on Cynthia Haney! (and please don't forget the Hooterville Monkey Races!)

Buy it!!!!

Summary: Green Acres - Thank God for good, clean entertainment - MORE
Review: Please, please, please, put the remaining years on DVD and make them available to those of us who can't find much to watch on TV these days. What a joy to watch these episodes again. It makes my evening!

Summary: Awesome and zany show!
Review: I hadn't even seen this show before I bought it. I saw all the reviews recommending it and my sister said it's pretty good, so I bought it since the price is terrific. I fell in love with it right away. I've only watched a few episodes so far, but they're hilarious. Even if you've never seen it, don't hestitate to buy it!

Summary: MORE PLEASE, ASAP!!
Review: I sincerely hope that someone at MGM sees this!! Can we please now have all the other wonderful episodes of Green Acres on DVD (the other five seasons)?? It is so great to have the entire first season on DVD, epecially since most show's early episodes are usually the best ones. But, Green Acres was a rare exception to that rule. The show was consistently and quite joyously weird and wacky and unpredictable throughout the six seasons it was on CBS. CBS also prematurely cancelled the show, despite it's still high ratings and popularity, along with it's other "country" shows, "The Beverly Hillbillies" and "Petticoat Junction", reportedly in an effort to offer more "sophisticated" fare. I can't help but wonder just how many of those replacement shows are still even remembered, let alone have been released on DVD!! Now if only "Petticoat Junction" would be offered the same way on DVD, as well!! The packaging of the two, two-sided Green Acres DVDs is adequate, but is somewhat spartan. But, the price makes up for it. There are no extras, not even chapter selections, but the episodes themselves more than make up for that. Especially since the episodes are complete and look great!! This DVD set is a bargain and I'll be on the lookout for the last five seasons of Green Acres to hopefully follow soon!! I can't recommend this purchase highly enough to any fan of Green Acres, who like me, grew up watching the show during it's original run from 1965 to 1971 and who like me, is a lover of classic, clean, family television entertainment.

Summary: At last!! Eva on DVD!!
Review: I used to watch Green Acres as a kid, that was back in the 70's when they showed the reruns. I did not get the jokes as a kid but I remember being fascinated by Eva Gabor and thinking how beautiful and sexy she was. For the last few years I have been checking the web for Green Acres on DVD...and needless to say I was thrilled when it was released recently. At last I can watch Eva and get the jokes...and I was extremely delighted. Listening to the theme song also evoked a lot of childhood memories and I can only say that I am waiting impatiently for the other seasons to be out on DVD.

Summary: Crazy as ever
Review: This is a show people seem to either love or hate, very few are on the fence. I fall in the first group. I saw the show when I was young, and almost 40 years later, it is still as funny as ever. When I saw the price, I was afraid of a substandard product, but was happy to see that was not the case. The big kudos goes to MGM for putting closed captioning on this classic. It is not advertised as such and at first I debated whether to order it. I was very happy to see that closed cation symbol on the box when I opened the package. Classic VHS tapes often lacked this feature, even MGM products. A number of the cheaper DVDs still lack this feature. With over 25 million Americans suffering some degree of hearing loss, and a population that is getting older, it is nice to know the companies are getting better about including the closed captioning on these classics so we can all enjoy them again.

Summary: Another Great Series from Paul Henning
Review: Paul Henning is one of the most underrated television producers. "The Beverly Hillbillies" and "Petticoat Junction", along with "Green Acres", are among the great sitcoms not only from the 1960s but of all-time. I only wish a nice set of DVDs like "Green Acres" would be offered for "The Beverly Hillbillies" and "Petticoat Junction". It would be nice to have all these shows in my DVD collection.

Summary: Oh that Eva Gabor
Review: Who never had the fantasy of living in a town named Hooterville and rolling in the hay with a hot Austrian blond? Eva Gabor is the only reason I watch this. She is one hot mama and that bedroom voice of hers drives me crazy. The only other woman I've ever wanted as bad as her is Peg Bundy.

Summary: MORE!!!
Review: At last...a complete season. Now let's get the other seasons out there! The show just got better and wackier as it went on, and the true classic episodes are in the later seasons!!!
