Summary: A Long Time Comming
Review: It was a different chapter of my life when I first started with "Forever Knight". 10 years plus is a long time. Now I watch it with older eyes. Not as old as Nick!!!

Summary: "Maybe Forever Isn't That Long"
Review: I think I was a bit more fortunate than some of the other reviewers. Due to horrendous marketing, and bad advertising on the part of CBS, and the local network that acquired it, I never got a chance to see the first season of "Forever Knight." This whole box set was a special feature to me, in, and of itself. As for seasons two, and three, all I've ever known are the American edits (though I sure wouldn't argue if future volumes include apocryphal, and restored footage). I also don't mind that they left the broadcast bands in at the beginning. As a matter of fact, I like it better with them, than without. For me, this is partly a nostalgia thing, and I spent many a night seeing that attached to the hook in each episode. To be honest with you, I wouldn't care if they added the commercials in too. It's interesting to see how the world has changed. Seven years is longer than you think. So long, and so far.

The show wasn't digitally remastered for this release--on the other hand, the source prints from which the set was derrived appear to be very clear compared to other shows that I've seen (many of those early transfers of "Dark Shadows" were godawful). It's packaged with attractive conceptual art, and each DVD includes the option of watching all five episodes straight through.

To the people who are upset, I would counsel you to take heart. Columbia-Tristar wanted to experiment with this before they committed themselves in any grave, financial way. If these sell well, I would be willing to bet that Volumes 2, and 3 will have extras, and at a reasonable price.

With this one, they got "Forever Knight's" foot in the door, and I'm glad they did.

Summary: Vampire Lovers are true fans of series
Review: This set is a long time coming but worth the money. I enjoyed seeign the old episodes I grew up on again. Sci-Fi Network used to play them but now ii is great to be able to watch them anytime I wish. The quality is the same as teh show and yes it was not digitally remastered but it better then not seeing the show ever again.

Summary: Very disappointing
Review: I love Forever Knight, but this is one of the worst DVD sets I've ever seen. No special features, horrible picture quality. The price they're charging for it is absolutely criminal. The Buffy DVDs are packed with special features and don't cost anywhere near as much. My old VHS tapes are better quality, and I have Canadian versions. This set is a waste of money.

Summary: One of the Worst transfers
Review: I am not rating the show, as I loved it and never missed an episode. Am rating the dvd. It is one of the worst transfers to watch on a digital big screen tv I have ever seen. Shame on them. They could have spent a little time cleaning up the grain. Lot of pixelization also. Other than that, will buy the other 2 just so I have all the episodes, but it still annoys me, such a quality show given such shabby treatment on dvd. Shame--Shame--Shame

Summary: About friggen time!
Review: Yes, yes, as a child I would have to stay up until the wee hours of the morning to catch this show on TV - if I had only had a VCR, but alas. Anyways, I have a full set now on crappy VHS tapes and have been anxiously awaiting the day the execs would grace us with FK on DVD.

To those who are complaining about a few cut scenes or video quality - think back to when there was no FK DVD, to when there was very little (if any) hope of EVER seeing FK DVDs.. remember how badly you wanted them back then and then rethink what we've been given. Be grateful!!! OMG!! Anyways, it's an awesome serious that will hopefully gain some new fans and rekindle some old.

Summary: Ok, so its not *all* that...
Review: ...but its what I wanted and, for its general popularity and the time period it was put out, it is--more or less--what I expected. I was pleasantly surprised to find the "Forever Knight" boxed set looking up at me from my local store shelf; I had pretty much given up on ever seeing the show again. I was also happy to find a "Play All" option at the beginning of each disc, which is something none of my newer series sets have and that drives me nuts. No, there are no extras. Considering the age of the show, I didn't really expect much--if any--in the first place. I didn't buy the set for any extras it might have, anyway; I bought it to see the series I used to consider one of my favorite guilty pleasures.

I am very happy to be able to re-visit Nick Knight's world again whenever I want to!

Summary: Some flaws but overall great!
Review: I've been waiting for this series since 1995. After all the campaigns that we fans of Forever Knight have had to try and bring the series back, or (since that is not possible) to bring it to DVD format. Yes, it is the version that we originally saw here in the US on CBS Late Night and not the Canadian version. Still, its truly a great series that needed to be on DVD and in the hands of its fans. This also makes it possible for others to see Forever Knight and understand that it was truly a remarkable show it was! I look forward to seeing the other two seasons on DVD so that the collection is complete!

Summary: Why the cuts?
Review: Many of us have waited a long time for FK to be put an DVD. We were jumping for joy when we heard it was. Knowing now I didnt have to worry about my VHS tapes braking or wearing out. The clearity is great, the sound is great, and the box set up is fantastic. I was hoping on getting the canadian version, have the missing clips, but would be satisfied for the US version. BUT to my suprise I didnt even get that! What happened? Why did the cut out A LOT of scenes? Important scenes! Terrific scenes! ANY scenes?
Going back to my VHS tapes

Summary: Happy about having DVD...unhappy about the cuts
Review: I love this show and I am happy to have it on a format that will last for a long time. However, a lot of editing has chopped out valuable parts. Suggestion: if they needed to cut something, why not the opening credits? As much as I love the intro, to add on the intro each time seems unnecessary...why not have it at the beginning the first ...and a closing piece at the end of all the eps?
I recommend this DVD to all fans of Forever Knight and to anyone who missed the opportunity to watch the show, this is a must buy purchase if you love vampire stories!
Long Live The Knight!

Thank you for this opportunity to voice my opinion.
