Summary: Only One Problem....
Review: I love Mary Tyler Moore as much as anyone. That's why I have a problem! What about those of us who can't afford to have a DVD player but are such huge fans? They aren't releasing this complete first seson in VHS. I have all of the other tapes from the show but no DVD player, so does that mean I miss out completely? Will they release this in VHS as well? Please say yes!

Summary: IT'S ABOUT TIME...
Review: I have been waiting and waiting for this. I AM SO EXCITED!!! I hope they release the rest of the seasons as well. The cast grows and blossoms into one of the strongest ensemble casts in TV history... and who can't help but love Mary.

Summary: Can't wait!
Review: Although the Mary Tyler Moore Show, in my opinion, only got really good with season three, I'm just so excited they're releasing it on DVD. Please, please, please release the rest of the seasons. I'm so gonna buy this the moment it comes out.

Season one has some nice moments: Rhoda's mom, 'Love is All Around', blah blah blah. Season two builds on season one and then it all comes together in season three.

Summary: ...and all the other MTM shows too?!
Review: It's a shame that they haven't continued releasing season sets of this fantastic series. It is still, by far, one of the best written sitcoms ever produced.

But what about the other MTM shows? It isn't just the other six seasons of THIS show Fox hasn't released, but they've also done NOTHING with the rest of the MTM library!

Hill Street Blues, The Bob Newhart Show (70s) and Newhart (80s), Rhoda, WKRP, Phyllis, Lou Grant, St. Elsewhere - WHERE ARE THEY?!?!

I hope this is a sign that Fox WILL be selling the rights off to another studio, one that hopefully knows how to do this the right way!

Summary: More seasons please
Review: This is a great sitcom, and one of the few TV shows that I want all the seasonson DVD, but it seems that this show made a fast stop in having the seasons on DVD.
Please release all the seasons. I can't believe how many other shows are out there, that are stupid, not a classic, not worth even seeing on TV, and they have quite a few seasons already on DVD.
PLEASE release all of these seasons!

Review: Listing the episodes is NOT a product review! STOP POSTING EPISODE GUIDES! YOU LOOK LIKE AN IDIOT WHEN YOU DO THAT!

Summary: Finally - hope for season 2
Review: I deleted my original review of this dvd set because I want to share the news from tvshowsondvd.com that season 2 is coming this summer! If you get yourself on their e-mail list, they will let you know by e-mail any information that comes out on this series. No specifics on exact date, price, or artwork, but keep on checking tvshowsondvd.com for further info. This is the best news the fans of this series have heard in years!!

Summary: BULLETIN!! ---> MTM SEASON TWO IS COMING -- SUMMER 2005!
Review: Great news for MTM fans! .............

Today I got word via a fine (and very reliable) website for TV-On-DVD news -- www.TVShowsOnDVD.com -- that the complete second season of "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" will finally be coming to DVD from FOX Home Entertainment in Summer 2005!

Also -- This MTM 2nd-season DVD boxed set evidently will NOT (as previously rumored) be "split" into two separate sets (a la "Lost In Space"). Instead, it will be released in just one set (like MTM-S.1).

This is outstanding news, indeed, for those (like me) who have been craving MTM Season Two on DVD ever since the first-season set was released on September 24, 2002.

Here's the info garnered from the "TV Shows On DVD" website.......

>>> "You've been waiting for this word, and the word - finally - is "go"! Reliable retail sources have told us that we can expect "Mary Tyler Moore - The Complete 2nd Season" to make it to DVD at last this coming Summer. Fox will release the entire second season of the show in a single box set, not in split-seasons like they've done with the later seasons of "Lost In Space".

We haven't heard yet if the set will contain any extras, even though it's been rumored that extras were recorded a long time ago. Still, with or without extras, fans - who have become very pessimistic over the future of the series - should be rather excited with this news. Love is all around once more...spread the word!" <<<

Summary: Fans Won't Need The "Best-Of" Disk
Review:
The problem with the "Best of Season One" DVD is that the majority--if not most--of the fans of the show have already bought the complete Season One DVD set. They won't need the "Best-Of" disk. So then, when the "Best-Of" disk doesn't do much business, Fox can say, "See, there's not much interest," and use it as an excuse not to release Season Two. A much better test would be a Best of Season TWO disk.

When you see the god-awful crud that's being released on DVD (Fear Factor?? Survivor??), you just know there's more going on in the business of these shows than appears on the surface. "WKRP in Cincinatti," which I believe I believe has some of the same corporate relationships as MTM, has also not been released on DVD. It would be nice to know what the real problem is.
