Summary: Awesome Set. Bought mine here.
Review: Party of Five was a great series. Not sure that I would pay much more than what Amazon has for it, but Amazon has it for wonderful price. Well worth the money here.

This has the first season, and brings back memories of when Claudia was just a tiny girl with an elven voice.

Can't wait till the rest come out. Like when Claudia is big and has an elven voice.

Sorry, it's very cute. Don't mean to make too much fun of her, because she is very sweet. My favorites are Charlie and Bailey though. Julia can be un-nerving in the episodes coming across as very spoiled. Bt it's fun none-the-less.

Enjoy! :)

Summary: party of five
Review: Party Of Five was an original show,no other show was on like it before, and none worked after. It tells the story of five orphans the salingers and the sudden death of the parents due to a drunk driver. It is a show that deals with everyday issues without having anyone to go to that happens to have all the answers like parents do,so they can either go it alone or help each other along the way.It was and still is a great show well written, and well acted.Matthew(charlie),Scott(bailey),neve(julia),and claudia(lacey) had a wonderful chemistry that made it that much believable and needed to make you actually care what happened to this family.I am excited that they finally released it and hope others soon follow, but i do not like the packaging because the holders (that hold the disc in place) are easily breakable for instance when i opened it up disc two fell out, risking scratches.I also did not like that you could tell where the commercials were because it went to black screen i thought the editing could have been smoother.also i think the special features should have been more engaging and intriguing because i found myself bored after awhile, but i would recommend this series to anyone it is just so good flaws and all to miss.

Summary: Party of Five drama on DVD Finally!!! Well-deserved!
Review: Party of Five was my favorite TV show and one the best dramas on Fox Television network during 6 seasons 1994 - 2000 on Wednesday nights 9 pm time slot is finally coming to DVD with Season 1. It is about time and finally deserved a good DVD set with commentaries and special features menus, specials, etc.I hope all seasons are released too.

During January 1996, Party of Five won Best Drama Series at the Golden Globes beating formidable competition series ER, NYPD Blue, and Chicago Hope to renew for its third season. This info is from 1997 book, Party of Five: Unofficial Companion by Brenda Scott Royce at the time. I recommended it if you can find it in a bookstore. It only covers the first three seasons.

I remember it well and it was well deserved family drama series with reality issues too. The Salingers deal with life and struggle without their parents. Each season gets stronger with more issues with the family and more development of the characters. I hope they come out with all the DVDs for each season within a reasonable time frame
6 - 12 months.

The Salingers are Bailey (Scott Wolf,), Charlie (Matthew Fox), Julia (Neve Campbell), Claudia (Lacey Chabert), Kirsten Bennett (Paula Devicq), Will McCorkle (Scott Grimes), and Owen (Brandon and Taylor Porter). Jennifer Love Hewitt joins the cast in the Second Season as Bailey's girlfriend Sarah Reeves. She is one of my favorite characters along with the Salingers.

First Season 22 Episodes are the following:
1. Pilot
2. Homework
3. Good Sports
4. Worth Waiting for
5. All's Fair
6. Fathers and Sons
7. Much Ado
8. Kiss Me Kate
9. Something Out of Nothing
10. Thanksgiving
11. Private Lies
12. Games People Play
13. Grownups
14. Not Fade Away
15. It's Not Easy Being Green
16. Aftershocks
17. In Loco Parentis
18. Who Cares?
19. Brother's Keeper
20. The Trouble With Charlie
21. All-Nighters
22. The Ides of March

If you like family drama with good characters and learning experiences, you will like Party of Five. My additional favorites series are Beverly Hills 90210 and I hope they release a DVD set for that series too.

Summary: Keep 'em coming
Review: Really excited about this release. Audio and Video are great. Better than average extras. Average packaging. My only disappointment is that a great deal of the original music had to be replaced. Some is intact, but a lot is different. Unfortunately this is common in Pre-DVD television shows that are now being released. The music was not licenced for home video and licensing fees are expensive. So therefore, the music is changed or the show isn't released at all. Glad to have the DVDs...just wish it could be with the same music. The original music was so well chosen and so important to the tone of the show. The new music is alright, just not the same for us die-hards. Oh well, better than nothing. Keep the sets coming!

Summary: Brave, moving and thought provoking
Review: This has to be, without a doubt, one of the bravest tv shows aimed at the teen market, especially when you consider this season is from 1994.
Its about 5 children (between the ages of 24 and 1) who try desperately to keep their family together after the death of their parents in a car crash, and the problems they face on a daily basis and how they deal with them in the absence of their parents. The show is beautifully acted by all, and you really feel their pain. The show covers so many topics with dignity without being patronising; teen sex, drug abuse, under age drinking, sex, homosexuality, death, infidelity, HIV and so many more.
Its a brave show, the best 22 hours of TV I've watched in a very long while. I have missed many of the following series as I live in the UK, and I can't wait to catch up!!! (Hurry and release the follow up series' PLEEEEASE!!!).

The DVD extras - adequate. A couple of commentaries and a 'look back', with interviews from some of the cast and writers.

A brilliant, inspiring show for teens and upwards (I'm 33!).

Summary: excellent DVD release
Review: This is something that the true Party of Five fan will definitely want. The episodes look great and have an outstanding quality about them, and the extras are much better than what you usually see on DVD's. They have some nice commentaries, recent interviews and former television specials with the cast, and with all of it you can really see how worried they all were at Season 1's end, wondering if the show was going to be picked up for a second year. I never realized that they were that much at risk of being cancelled; with episodes like this, you would never believe it. The actors are perfect for their roles, the plots hit hard, and they just keep pounding away at the emotions. You aren't getting a little show with some drama; this is some heavy, high-impact intensity that does not start with the Salinger kids' parents' death and gradually get better. With their issues surrounding friends, school, relationships and peer pressure, it seems like the drama will never end, and this was when they were just getting started with the first season. With Julia's pregnancy and Bailey's constantly dramatic love life in season two, it only steps up higher and higher.

So, all in all, the emotions presented are definitely serious, but this is one show you'll want to invest your heart into. There's almost no way you can't feel for these young orphaned kids who are just trying to stay together and make things work as they fight to rebuild their lives and everything around them. The underlying message of trust, faith and loyalty to family is one that society couldn't be more needy of at times like this, so I'd say THANK YOU to Party of Five for touching so many lives with this phenomenal gem of a TV series with real people and circumstances that will stand the test of time for years to come.
