Summary: One of the best TV series I've ever seen.
Review: This show is much better then I expected it to be. After watching Pilot episode I could not stop watching and I finished the whole season in a couple of days. Those who like "Training Day" and "The Sopranos" should watch this show. My friends also love it. Unfortunately, they don't show it on TV or cable here in Australia. I am definately going to buy the second season when it comes out. This show kept me on the edge of my seat.

Review: Low budget oater that has a weary familiarity. Various conspiracies and plot twists seem contrived for the purposes of making a punchy and fast moving show rather than one that is entirely credible. Would mackey really have got away with beating that pervert over the head with a telephone directory? America is the home of the lawsuit. Chiklis is no Dennis Franz either. He can't carry the show. The boss can't cut it either. The black detective gives the best performance. Couldn't help but smile, though, at that bit when the crook Mackey is chasing jumps over wooden door in an alley and Mackey crashes straight through it like a bull and collars him.

Review: The Shield: Simply one of the best series of all time. The episodes are chock full of more story than you can keep track of. The pacing and camera-work is frantic and agitated. And there's even some pretty unique character development. At first, the show seems like just a gimmick, trying hard to include as much profanity and nudity on TV as possible. But these gimmicks are quickly forgotten as you struggle to keep up with the storylines. You will be stunned by the sheer number of ideas the writers have come up with. Combine this with the success of season two, and you know this is a quality program that will hopefully be with us for a long time. The only distraction to most viewers will be the use of graphic violence, nudity, and the frank approach to the corruption of society.

Summary: The best show on television
Review: Without a doubt this is the best show on television. I felt like I was watching a blockbuster movie rather then a basic cable television show. Everything about The Shield is excellent from the Michael Chiklis potrayal of good guy, bad cop Vic Mackey to the top notch camera work and script. This show will have you guessing from one moment to the next and have you glued to the set for the next ten hours.

Summary: The BEST cop show I have ever seen...
Review: The show revolves around Vic Mackey ( Michael Chiklis) and the strike team, which consists of the detectives in the division with the best arrest records. However, they are the dirtiest cops to ever hit Los Angeles. They do everything from sleeping with hookers and planting evidence, to shaking down drug dealers for payoffs. David Acevada ( Benito Martinez) is brought in as the new Captain. He is torn between proving that the strike team is dirty, and maintaining a strong media image for running a clean department. The sparks soon begin to fly, because Vic and his team have their own agenda and do what they want, when they want. You also get to see all the other cops in action take down criminals anyway they see fit!

"The Shield" is the most realistic and hard hitting cop show to ever be put on the air. The show is run on the FX Network and they do not ruin the show by censoring it! You actually get to see nudity, hear profanity, and witness violent and disturbing acts that actually happen in the real world. That is why the show works. It does not pull any punches, and does not worry about the opinions of its viewers. Most cop shows offer the same formula of different case after case, and it doesn't really matter if you miss an episode. However, my favorite aspect of the show, is that the episodes are actually tied together at times, which means that each episode is important to fully understanding the show. Not only is the show itself gripping and action packed, but the actors are all outstanding. Michael Chiklis deserved the Emmy that he won. His character Vic Mackey will constantly mess with your emotions. You will like the guy because he is an extremely good cop. But you will despise him as well, because he lets his morals and conscience be clouded by corruption and greed. Other fine actors include CCH Pounder, Catherine Dent, Walt Goggins, and Benito Martinez.

The individual cases are shocking and hard hitting, the acting is superb, and you get to witness a controversial but realistic look at the cops in Los Angeles. The DVD extras are unbelieveable. The featurettes take in an depth look into the show with interviews from different cast and crew members. There are also some great deleted scenes as well. If you are fan of law enforecement television, this is one show that you cannot afford to pass up!

Summary: Bring On Season 2
Review: After reading great reviews about this series, I decided to take the plunge and get the 1st season. I was totally Blown away!!!

Here in Singapore, we're never gonna get the series on air with its questionable content, which is a shame considering the performances of such a great ensemble cast...Vic - bad cop/good cop/amoral cop...you decide. A bible thumping homosexual who wants to do whats right, A latino captain with political aspirations trying to nail Vic in anyway possible but who knows he needs him as well. Dutch, sometimes brainiac-comic relief element who just wants respect....

I love the Sopranos but I'd bet my bottom dollar Vic would take him down in a second......

Please bring on Season 2 on DVD now!!!!
