Summary: superswank !
Review: with only three less than stellar reviews, easily outnumbered by 100+ five-star reviews (before the dvd is even released) "alias" certainly has a legion of dedicating fans... and for good reason - it's just stellar. from the big thrills and fantastic plots that leave you just in awe (ie. the choreograhpy, the lighting, the camerawork, the costumes, the sets and the science/tech behind it all) to the little details (ie. the acting) that draw you to the characters and their relationships with a grip that doesn't let go... this spy-thriller truly has a place in my heart. heck, in the first season, i'd schedule my sundays AROUND it.

be prepared, however, to watch this show with some time on your hands.

seeing only one hour of it per week left me, and millions of other fans, craving for more. we NEEDED to see what happened next, and often a week was lost agonizing (and often with other alias fans on some awesome sites dedicated to "alias") about what would happen, how the cliffhangers would be resolved, and what would be next... all the while, trying to figure out jj's master plan - revealed in a MAGNIFICENT season finale. now, you won't have to wait. so, once you start with this dvd, "action packed" will take on a whole new dimension because you too will be speechless or screaming, mortified or elated, on the edge of your seat or huddled up in the corner of your couch... mesmorized by the spy and domestic worlds of ms. sydney bristow. no wonder garner won that emmy.

Summary: The only show that I always watch
Review: I love this show so much! I have seen every episode and they've all been great. It never has an off week and is always top-notch. If you missed the first season, have never watched Alias, or love Alias you should definetely get this. It's worth the price... Do yourself a favor and pick this one up when it comes out.

Summary: Worth Buying
Review: "Alias" is no "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" or "Angel," but still worth buying. Full of excellently choreographed fight scenes, great acting and well-written episodes. One of the best things about the show is Jennifer's Garner's acting, for which she won both an Emmy and a Golden Globe for. In fact, the reason alone is enough to buy this DVD set.

Summary: Best Show on TV!
Review: Alias is the best show on TV today! It is addictive. If you watch one episode then you cant stop. I cant wait for this DVD set to come out. This is the DVD set I have been waiting for more than any other. I am buying this the first day it comes out. Dont miss your chance to own the best show today.

Summary: Too good to miss
Review: Wonderful spy story with breath taking cast. Michael Vartan is something out of the world. Apparently I have no chance to see the DVD since the encoding region is 1 and not 2, adaptable for Europe. Do you plan to place a DVD suitable for playing in Europe? Please do let us see a positive response. The Italain TV broadcast stopped playing the tv serial all of a sudden. I have formally complained about it. We have not seen any of the year 2 episodes, we got cut off with the scene with Sydney caught by her mother.......Thank you for the pleasure you gave us. Keep up the good work.

Summary: ALIAS
Review: Alias is a fun action packed show that has great depth and plot. The only shows out there that are better than this are BUFFY and ANGEL, but i guess no one can compare to joss whedons action packed martial art dramas. But alias sure runs a close third and is worth it to own on dvd.

Summary: WIDESCREEN!!
Review: Just to let everybody know, the First Season Alias DVD set WILL be in Widescreen format. It also has some great extras. For all the people on here who said they would not buy it without widescreen, fear no more. Everybody should buy this set, Alias is by far the best show on TV, bar none.

Summary: ALIAS DVD WILL be in WIDESCREEN
Review: From TVTShowsOnDVD:

ALIAS - Fullscreen or Widescreen? - 4:11 PM 4/02/2003
Over the past week or so, DVD forums have been buzzing with the information that Alias will be released in fullscreen even though the show is broadcast in widescreen on ABC's HDTV feed. Not wanting to spread false information about the release, we contacted someone at Buena Vista Home Entertainment and asked what the aspect ratio for the release would be. The response was all we needed:

"It will be in widescreen."

So, I guess that should silence the uprising. Spread the word.

Summary: ***ALIAS IS NO. 1!!!*** THE BEST SHOW *FINALLY* PUT ON DVD!
Review: I am a huge fan of Alias, more importantly, Jennifer Garner. This show is positively one of the best shows ever made. J. J. Abrams has come very far from creating shows and has now achieved a masterpiece! I've been a viewer since the first season and I too am on a mission to keep this show on air for as long as possible. It's better than all of the other primetime drama shows!
The central character, Sydney Bristow (J. Garner), is an incredibly talented actress that made it big with this show. She's absolutely captivating, emotionally intriguing, and superb as a CIA agent. Her college educated, grad student, genius character is full of integrity and devotion and is extremely well-played, and her incredibly fit and toned figure is an inspiration to women as well as great eye-candy for men! Choosing to do much of the stunts herself, the action packed show has really captivating fight scenes that look realistic. The suspense filled scenes are often put to great techno beats. The action in shows like Buffy pale in comparison to Alias. Some of the violence depicted is shocking and graphic (electrocution, amputation, teeth pulling). The events involving characters intimate with one another are also very shocking. For all you ladies there is Michael Vartan to oogle over and various other handsome and physically fit men on the show.
In addition to the excellent cast of characters, the show steals its audience with incredibly intriguing and complex story lines week after week. It has plots that sometimes deal with the current events the nation experiences, and has themes of conspiracy while touching on historical events. It is definitely an intellectually challenging series that has fast-paced stories all of the time.
Finally there is a show, since the X-Files, where a young woman is just as, if not more, physically and intellectually capable than her male counterparts. With a capable and assertive Sydney (female James Bond) going on missions, performing as a double agent, and her spectacular intellect and technical expertise, this show never has a dull moment!!!
It has had full support from stars appearing as guests like Quentin Tarantino, Roger Moore, Faye Dunaway, Christian Slater, etc. and there are many more to come. I honestly don't know why it doesn't have high ratings! This is definitely a must buy, you won't be disappointed, it will be money well spent. You'll want to watch it over and over, I know I have and will again and again...

Summary: Oh no..after all this wait!
Review: Online announcements of this long-awaited and eagerly anticipated set seem to be in agreement that we are going to get a full screen only transfer.
I believe the series was filmed in HD and here in the UK terrestrial showings have been in widescreen which adds so much to the SKY satellite showings. It's a great improvement to see them W/S and there's no excuse for a lazy 4:3 transfer.
I will NOT be purchasing this set if it does indeed appear fullscreen. I'll wait and see if there's enough fan anger so that they change their plans and produce it W/S or if the R2 (UK) release is W/S.
What a disappointment after all this wait :)
