Summary: One more excellent season!...
Review: This is one of the best sci-fi shows of all time. The cast is perfect and the plots are so good that you can't help but wish to go no stop to the next episode. A lot of important things happens in this season that will take effect in the future seasons, so if you are a fan you can't miss it for anything!...

Summary: amazing!
Review: This is the best sci-fi you will ever see. The first three seasons of Stargate SG-1 are truly remarkable and the third in the series takes the story to new heights. Unfortunately, the show goes downhill from here ...

Summary: superb
Review: This like all seasons of this show in my opinion is great. I could wish for a little more in the extra features department, but in this case it's really the show I want.

Summary: Stargate SG-1
Review: This series started with a fairly negative movie---"Stargate" and then went on to several much better series out on DVD. The latest is Season 3. I do hope they speed up the release of the other seasons since customer service at Amazon said it was one of the top sellers. I use to be a total Star Trek Fan until it got to be more like a Broadway Play with a lot of Psychological drama since I think most of the actors really wanted to do that. Meanwile, as one can see by the customer ratings, StarGate took off with its series based in our time and actually tied to a much debated question----who built the pyrmids with such total accurancy. To me, a long time Sci-Fi Fan, it just soared past Star Trek. Based on some reasonalbe assumptions as played by Smanath Carter, much sound physics is discussed relating to worm holes as we understand them now and travel across the Galaxy using that mode of transportation. The US Air Force(for real)has been involved in advising them as the series stars Air Force people back on Earth which has made it look very real. The Gouls, constantly out to do us in have been beat at every turn by our old earth weapons and US Air Foprce people using good judgement. Just about all the other series you see involve some future army or current one now, and this series does justice to our Air Force today. I think it will serve a great way to get younger people in the Air Force. In one scene, a US General actually plays a short role doing a good job. In this series, we cooperate with other nations such as the Russians who are protrayed well as being Courage driven---not unlike our current space program. In some shows they have used the Shuttle and did not strech what the thing does. Fox sold it to the Sci-Fi Channel I think not realizing how it would take off as we travel the do Galaxatic travel in the hear and now. The even took the chance of running into a middle ages developed world of Christians who the Gould has messed up only to bring them back to a Christian. When is the last time you remember a Battle on Star Treak----well on Star Gate, about every third show they battle to Gouls who have technology far past us and we always end up getting out of the situation or using their technology against them. The "Theme" of the show is "freedom for all" and they make that the Prime Directive of "Star Gate". If there were not some strong actors left of Star Trek, it would already be gone. Wake up my old friend Star Trek and watch some Star Gate. If I wanted to watch Psych melodrama, I'll watch "Days of our Lives" on Day Time TV. You lost something Star Trek with the death of Ray Bradberry!

Summary: Disappointed
Review: While all the special features could be viewed with no problem, none of the episodes on any disk could be viewed.

Summary: yes, i love it, but
Review: why has mgm released stargate in fullscreen instead of the letterbox of showtime and the scifi channel? and why no choice, if some people actually prefer fullscreen? given the superlative, mindboggling special effects and the fabulous scenery, not having the episodes in letterbox is a real puzzle.

also, several of the episodes in season 3 have very uneven audio. its irritating to be blown out of your seat by loud background music and not be able to hear the dialogue.

okay, the complaints (and hints--maybe amazon could perhaps influence mgm about the format?? amazon has buying power, right?) having been made, i will say that, yes, this is one of the greatest scific series ever. it has everything to gladden the heart of the scifi lover--adventure, alien races (and lots of them), nobility and skulduggery, great acting (let's see more of christopher judge's range), good dialogue, great special effects and wonderful humor (visual and verbal--almost unique these days). and one thing i value almost more than the rest--the characters are not mean to each other. i am so sick of maliciousness and insults i've stopped watching many shows.

oh, yeah, and the male guest stars set a high standard for hunks.
(anyone have peter stebbings phone number?) could it be just coincidence, the fact that the show is shot in canada, or do the producers actually (finally) realize there are female scifi fans, too?

now, could the next seasons please please please be released more quickly? next week would be good for me.

Summary: Very good and gripping but...
Review: Why stopping the other language tracks & subtitles?
I am French, my fiancé is American and you should have seen his face when I finally accepter to watch SG1 season 1. I was not that interested. I didn't like the movie. But after the 1st episode, I really got into it. We watched it in English with French or English subtitles... so cool :)
Then it was time for me to watch Season 2 and BANG! No subtitles!!!

WHAT HAPPENED??
:(
Season 3 has no subtitles either... not even in English!!!

WHY??

Well, I keep watching it but I have to admit that it becomes difficult to understand when I'm tired :p

Except this fact, SG1 rocks!

Review: WONDERFUL season of Stargate! But then, I think they're all wonderful! I'm appealing to the "powers that be" to release the Stargate seasons in North America at the same time as in the UK! There may be more fans there, not sure, but Europe and Australia and Canada seem to get ALL the Gate Cons, BUT there ARE fans here in the USA also!

Okay, no more soapbox :)

Every GATER should own this one!

Leslie :)
