Summary: an explosion of the soul
Review: I saw the entire series on HBO. The first 5 I've seen twice. It was one of the most moving works of art I have ever seen. The story telling was broad, with points of view from every angle of the regimen. Yes, it was quite disgusting and disturbing at times, but I believe that to be true of war. This is not just entertainment, but for someone who has never experienced war first-hand, it was a lesson in the reality of the battle as well as the battle within oneself. It wasn't just happy ending stories. There were times I felt disgusted, sad, confused about what was going on, and my my dad said, "well, that's war, honey."

Review: All though I never saw all of Band of Brothers I did see 3 Episodes I loved all 3, best WW2 Movie I think I have ever seen, this mite be based on the fact that I have a fetish for the 101st Airborne but the movie is really good quilty up there with Saving Private Ryan, Then Red Line, Enemy at the Gates etc

Review: I was slightly disappointed with Band of Brothers DVD - I naturally assumed it would be a collection of the Boston Philaharmonic's greatest symphonies. Unfortunately, it was neither the collection of the greatest, or dealing with the Boston Philaharmonics at all. I noticed few musical instruments at all; which begs the question: just what kind of band is this?

Summary: Band of Brothers (The HBO Mini-series I hope)
Review: The mini series that focuses on Easy Company, paratroopers in world war 2. To put it simply, ten hours of Saving Private Ryan. I dont know how many episodes they are going to put on this DVD (The HBO M-S is ten one-hour long episodes) but I would buy each episode individually if that's the case. I think the acting is great, the action is great, the drama is great, the whole thing is great. If you like war movies, BUY IT.

Summary: Band of Brothers - A truly outstanding production
Review: Whilst this video by HBO and the B.B.C. is not yet released, I have watched the series on the BBC and it is, in my opinion, the finest American war drama I have ever seen. For accuracy and realism it beats "Platoon" and "The Deer Hunter" and just shades "Saving Private Ryan". When you realise that the executive directors are Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg, it gives you some idea as to the quality of this production. I eagerly await its release. Miss it at your peril

Summary: The Best WWll Movie to date.
Review: I have seen this entire episode on HBO. It is hands down the best WWll Movie/documentary to date, The Acting, Directing,editing,etc. are all 5 star.It really draws you in and won't let go until the end when the only reply for me was:"WoW".To bad its taken this long for some of the stories about the Veterans of WWll to be recognized for the courageous job they did for this Country. My earnest thanks and admiration to all of them.

Summary: A Bargain At Any Price
Review: There are many, many reviews here that adequately describe the quality of this production, the accuracy and the heart and soul of this series. I specifically want to address the two "cons" mentioned in recent reviews... First...the guy that says Band of Brothers is always on HBO is nuts...it's on now because of the 60th anniversary of D-Day and invariably it won't be there when you want to sit down and watch. Secondly...it's true the special features are weak and for the money you pay for the set it seems like you get shorted. Until you watch all the episodes--including the most moving of all...the interviews with the real veterans depicted in the series. I'm an Operation Iraqi Freedom veteran and I feel fortunate to have served in Iraq of 2003 and not Europe of 1944-45. Every free person in the world today owes a debt of gratitude to the men portrayed in Band of Brothers...and this series goes a long way towards understanding that we'll never be able to fully repay them. Buy this, rent it, or borrow it...but make sure you see it in its entirety.

Summary: gi joe needs to get a life
Review: Hey GI Joe,people like you are ruining this country. show a little more respect for this country and for these men. They saved the world and put their life on the line so that you could have freedoms. Steven spielberg and tom hanks did an amazing job portrating WWII, and anyone who read the book and liked it will love the show. It is one of the most accurate war movies ever created. No detail is left out. Ir is both historically accurate and entertainin, which is rare. If you are interested in this dvd, don't listen to G.I. Joe. Buy it and i garuntee that you will love it.

Review: This tripe just reinforces the idiotic opinion held by so many Americans that "America saved Europe" from the Nazi's. Rubbish. Read a good book instead.
