Summary: Scooby Doo and the Reluctant Werewolf
Review: A great classic Scooby doo movie than fans of old Hanna-Barbara storyline will enjoy. The only reason I give it 4 stars out of 5 is the one problem I always had with story concept. Dracula needs a werewolf but a midget werewolf is seen among Dracula's crew of monsters throughout the entire film. From kid to adult that always bugged me a bit. It a wonderful story where Shaggy wears his alternate red shirt and Googie his girlfriend is a great new character to the Scooby Universe. In them movie shaggy is turned into a werewolf and in Wacky Racers style have to win a crazy race to get changed back.

Summary: Worst Scooby Doo movie ever!
Review: I am an absolute Scooby Doo fan and I have been watching Scooby Doo cartoons since 1974. I currently own 7 Scooby Doo DVDs with 3 more on order. However, Reluctant Werewolf has got to be the worst Scooby Doo movie ever! It totally departs from the Scooby Doo formula of solving mysteries and unmasking bad guys in monster suits.

Instead, this movie is about Scooby, Shaggy, Scrappy and Googie entering a road race with monsters. The whole movie is about the dumb road race from beginning to end and nothing else. The rest of the Mystery Inc. gang like Fred, Daphne, Velma and even the Mystery Machine have been completely left out.

As a Scooby Doo fan I feel totally disappointed and cheated. I advise all Scooby fans to stay clear away from this disaster.

Review: I have not seen this as a VHs, but I have seen it as a TV show.

Summary: Scooby and Shaggy take a break.
Review: I saw this like a hundred times when I was a kid and I did not think I would laugh at it as much as I did then. Especially considering this is old school Scooby animation and not the sleeker, brighter animation of recent years. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this. It's even better than Scooby's most recent adventure (The Monster of Mexico).

There is no Mystery Inc or Mystery Machine in this movie. It's just Shaggy (wearing a red shirt instead of a green one) and Scooby (and unfortunately, Scrappy, tho he doesn't feature prominently) and Shag's girlfriend Googy. Shaggy lives in an alarmingly large, mansion-esque house and is chosen by Count Dracula to become a werewolf so he can take part in a race for monsters.

Despite looking cute and cuddly as a Werewolf, Shaggy obviously doesn't want to do it but Dracula promises to change him back to human if he wins. What follows is a Scooby Doo version of the Wacky Races as insane customized cars battle it out on an anything-goes Transylvanian race-course.

The majority of laughs come from Dracula, ever so desperate to keep his wicked plan from falling apart and always making a complete idiot of himself.

It's also new to see Shaggy not jump into Scooby's arms every time he sees a monster. And this time they're real too , not just some guy in a mask.

I would definitely recommend this to Scooby fans and those who are just total Scooby completists (like me). It's very funny and totally rewatchable.

The DVD is in 1.33:1, as drawn and comes with a Dolby Mono soundtrack.

Summary: Different, But Still Great!
Review: I'm sure some people were disappointed by the absence of Fred, Daphne, and Velmah. I know some people don't like Scrappy. And I am quite sure that some people would rather see the typical bad guy in mask scenario. But if we are willing to accept something different, this is a wonderful Scooby movie. It starts normal enough with Shaggy winning a race. Alright. The monsters pass plausibility. But overall, they did a good job of adding some human plausible traits to the monsters. Dracula is ofcourse a bad guy. But he does entertain us, and at times, we may find ourselves feeling at least a little sorry for him. The chemistry between him and Vanapyra is wonderful! The Hunch bunch offers the wonderful contrast between the clearly educated Brunch and the not so intelligent Crunch. Googy is an interesting guest star who provides a voice of reason in all the chaos. Alright. The movie may seem a little long. But this is easy to overlook seeing that the comedy never stops. I find it tragic that a lot of 'so called' adult comedy relies on low, redundant, and amoral humour that often leads to certain audiences feeling hurt and insulted. And this 'so called' kids movie has some of the highest levels of comedy out there. (Tongue and cheek, situational comedy, and sudden plays to the audience, etc) It would appear that since kids would be watching this, they couldn't throw amoral, disgusting, and offensive slapstick humour in. So they had to take time to make it intelligent! Granted, this is different from regular Scooby, but we still have the antics of Shaggy and Scooby, as well as their unusual enthusiasm over food. I am certain that some people will always prefer the old episodes, and that some people would rather see the newer movies with Fred, Daphne, and Velmah as well. But if you are open to something that is different, but still great, and flat out hilarious, pick this tape up.

Summary: My Review of Scooby-Doo: Reluctant Werewolf
Review: Not one of the best Scooby-Doo movies, but not a bad movie either, this is the type of movie your kids will love and you can watch it with them. Unlike some of the new Scooby-Doo movies, this one has more comedy in it that both kids and parents will like. I give this movie 4 out of 5 stars.

Review: Terrible animation, stupid story, no gang (just Scappy and Shaggy's girlfriend), no mystery.

Summary: GREAT VIDEO
Review: THis is arguably the bestScooby doo movie of all time!
I know somepeople don't like scrappy, which I don't understand. I like Scrappy. I think he makes these videos much better, he's a great, funny character if you ask me. Also in this movie, there is no mystery machine, Freddy, Velma, or Daphane. this may disapoint some people, but it doesn't bother me. I find Daphane annoying, same with Fred, and velma doesn't belong in this movie.
Oh, and about the mystery machine, sorry we're not in the 70's anymore. Shaggy has a car in this movie that is a million times cooler than the mystery machine. When you see the movie you'll find out. Fred, Daphane and Velma just don't belong in this movie. They're not neccesarry charactors anyway, beacause they solve mysteries and this movie isn;t a mystery!
In this movie Shaggy, Scooby and Srappy run into trouble when Shaggy is turned into a werewolf by the hunch bunch, who are count dracula'a assistants. In order to be changed back to normal, shaggy must enter and win the annual monster road rally in transylvania, but dracula isn't gonna make it easy! This movie is very comical and funny. It's much better than much of the garbage that's on TV today. I give this movie 2 thumbs up! buy this movie, and you won't regret it!!!!!!!!!
