Summary: THIS ROCKS
Review: This is the best history of video games I've ever seen. Tony Hawk does a great job alongside all of the video game pioneers you can think of: Nolan Bushnell, founder of Atari, John Romero, co-creator of Doom and Quake, Tripp Hawkins, founder of EA... the list goes on and on. The whole pace of the DVD is fast and furious, much like the games themselves. The graphics are awesome. Good for old school gamers and newbies alike, this DVD gives you the people and personalities behind the games, and explains all of the genres and movements over the last 25 plus years. Bonus features are cool: an interview with Tony Hawk, and a piece where all the gaming pioneers talk about their favorite games of all time. GET THIS.

Summary: From Pong To Sonic...
Review: We often really seem to heard so much in the way of how influential life can be at times. That can be said in so many different ways from music, movies to television and news. Yet, it can also be said about one of the most exciting and addictive things in life, video games. Since they came out in the late 60's, the addiction has never seemed to hault. Instead, it has just gotten better with age. There is just so much it really brings out in our lives, including mascots from Sonic the Hedgehog, to the Super Mario Brothers, video games keep going and going.

Video Game Invasion is a well enhanced documentary focusing in on the history of how video games were developed, and all the different companies from Atari and their classic games like Pong, Breakout & Centipede, to next-generation game systems including Nintendo, Xbox and Playstation 2. The documenary is presented from the people at the GSN network, and pro skateboarder Tony Hawk as narrator. The show is very detailed in each video game classic and how some of the greatest addictive games like Tetris, Pac-Man and Donkey Kong were developed. It also talks about the sweeping focus of why certain games became so violent and the ratings they're tagged with. The series was well created and ives great interviews from the people who made these wonderful games.

The GSN network documenary has been one of the best that has ever been made in full, and really displays quite a lot. If you have seen it before and you have the etwork on cable, you should wait until it airs again. Otherwise, it is a must buy for all gamers alike, especially why the gaming goes on.
