Summary: Hardcore fan's dream!
Review: Hardcore History is one of the better DVD's I've bought in a while. Chris Benoit & Dean Malenko vs. Sabu & Taz was better than I expected. The Gangstas vs. The Eliminators was a good match for those of you who like flat out brawling. Same thing with the Pit Bulls vs. Raven & Stevie Richards. I only watched about three minutes of Shane Douglas vs. Pitbull 2 before falling asleep. Cactus Jack vs. Sandman wasn't what I expected. Sabu vs. RVD was a fantastic match with a lot of good spots as was Rey Mysterio Jr. vs. Juventud Guererra. Tommy Dreamer vs. Brian Lee was okay, but it was too short and once they got up on the scaffold it didn't last long. The only thing that keeps this from five stars is the fact that Shane Douglas was invovled in about half the matches. I don't care what anyone says there were alot of guys who personified ECW more than he ever did.

Summary: A definate must have for any wrestling fan.
Review: I don't own this DVD as it isn't out yet, but I have seen all these matches and let me tell you, this is definately the best out of the ECW Pioneer series by far. Almost all of the matches were voted in the top 20 ECW matches of the 1990's at deathvalleydriver.com, and for good reason. Highly reccomended.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: THE MOST AWESOME TAPE IN THE RECENT COLLECTION OF ECW.
Review: I GOT THREE WORDS FOR THIS VIDEO. OH, MY GOD! THIS TAPE IS A MUST-SEEEEEEEEEE. BENOIT/MALENKO VS. TAZ/SABU(FOR THE TITLES); ENOUGH SAID. GANGSTAS/ ELIMINATORS IS VERY VIOLENT AND THEY USE EVERYTHING! RAVEN/RICHARDS VS. PITBULLS IS SIMPLY CRAZY. SHANE DOUGLAS/PITBULL 2 HAS A SUPER CONTROVERSIAL AND INSANE FINISH.

CACTUS/SANDMAN HAD A LAME FINISH BUT THE MATCH IS GOOD. VAN DAM/SABU(STRECHER MATCH) WAS THE BEST MATCH EVER BETWEEN THEM. REY MYSTERIO/JUVI IS A CLASSIC.

DREAMER AND BRIAN LEE IS JAW DROPPING! IF YOU BUY THE DVD YOU HAVE THE HONOR TO SEE THIS UNIQUE AND DRAMATIC MATCH.

THIS TAPE IS GREAT AND YOU WILL GIVE ME THE REASON WHEN YOU FINISH TO SEE THIS VIDEO.

Review: I just bought this dvd today and it was great! here are the matches and how i rate them.

Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko vs. Taz and Sabu: Good match. Pretty mutch handicap all the way with taz getting his knee injured mid-match. *** stars (out of 5)

Gangstas vs. Eliminators in a weapons cage match: Very good match. Very bloody. But you can perry saturn pull out his blade to "blade" himself. Wild dives by saturn too. ****

Raven and Stevie Richards vs. The Pitbulls: Excellent tag team dog collar match. (2/3 falls) Great tables bumps in the match. ****1/2

Shane Douglas vs. Pitbull 2: Very bloody match between these two. Pitbull 2 bleeds like a prime rib. Douglas dominates most of the match. ****

Rey Mysterio Jr. Vs. Juventud Gererra: "Lucha Libre Match" Greatest Lucha match EVER. Wild moves. They brawl everywhere. *****

Tommy Dreamer vs. Prime Time Brian Lee: In a "High Incident Scaffold Match" Point of the match is to throw your opponent of the scaffold 30 feet above the ring through the tables below. Good way to end they dvd and great fall by brian lee. ****

BONUS MATCHES (DVD ONLY) Cactus Jack vs. The Sandman: Singapore cane against fist wrapped in barbed wire. Good match. Slow. But good. ***

Rob Van Dam vs. Sabu: Stretcher Match. Great Match! Very hardcore and fast paced. Best match on the dvd. *****

Summary: Excellent DVD
Review: I recently got in ECW, and im very impressed with the matches. I always loved WWE, and when I heard about ECW, it was like porn. You rarely saw it, and when you did-it was a real treat. When they folded, I guess I didnt care at the time. Now that I got in WWE hardcore, I purchased as much ECW dvds as I could. This dvd has some excellent matches, and I recommend it to anyone who loves wrestling.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Actually, this is a 3 1/2 stars DVD, but......
Review: I think if I had been a die-hard ECW fan since it's inception in 1994, I would have appreciated the significance of this DVD. Each match took place before 1996 when ECW was desperately trying to make a big name for itself. And most of the matches reflect this.

Since I am a Hardcore wrestling fan more than a technical wrestling fan, I will start with the blood and guts matches. Tommy Dreamer vs. Brian Lee is a 1 star match with a 5 star ending. To watch Lee get dropped from a 25 foot high scaffold onto a zillion tables sitting in the ring is worth sitting through 15 minutes of nothing. Cactus Jack vs. Sandman is alright, mainly because it's unbelievable what punishment Mick Foley could take in his heyday. And the incredible "Stretcher Match" featuring a young Rob Van Dam vs. an aging Sabu would probably get 5 stars from the brainwashed ECW masses, but as an objective viewer, it gets 3 stars. The match is too long, which is the case with most of Rob Van Dam's matches, and ends when Sabu does some sort of flip onto the padded stretcher and is too hurt to get back up. This after doing flips onto concrete, steel barriors, and getting beat with chairs. It doesn't make much sense.

The significance of the rest of the DVD is lost on me because I have never been a hardcore fan. The wrestling is great because Perry Saturn, Chris Benoit, Dean Malenko, and Shane Douglas are all featured. But I guess I just didn't appreciate this DVD as much as I should.

Summary: HardCore History
Review: I'm writing this review because there are no(VHS)video tape review's for this Movie, only DVD reviews on this website.

1. Benoit,Malenko vs Sabu,Tazz
Solid wrestling match, Great memorys seeing Benoit and Malenko in ECDubs, Good match.4/5

2. The Gangstas vs The Eliminators
Some good hardcore violence in this one, if thats what your interested in. Its a cage match that gets pretty brutal. One of the finest Wrestlers to come out of ECW, Perry Saturn must have jump off that cage over Ten times, Good Violent Match.4 of 5 stars for Saturn.

3. Raven,Stevie Richards vs The Pitbulls
This match is all over the place. Not the biggest fan of these four guys so it wasn't to appealing to me. All right match but in the end it was classic ECDubs.2/5

4. Shane Douglas vs Pitbull 2
Pitbull 2 is out for revenge ,after Douglas broke his partners neck. This one gets pretty crazy as emotions run high in this violent gruge match. 3/5

5. Rey Misterio Jr. vs Juventud Guererra
These 2 guys are pionners in the Lucha Libre wrestling. By Far
the best match on the video. Watch these 2 guys in there Prime
,in a match that people still talk about today. The Hardcore Lucha Libre match is the best match I've seen out these 2 men.
It started in the ring and ended up in the parking lot at one point in the match. Spectacular match.5/5 amazing

6.Tommy Dreamer vs Brian Lee
Not the greatest of match's but the High Incident Bump at the end makes it all worth while.3/5

P.S: Video tape fans please start writing reviews.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Weaker than past ECW releases.
Review: Let's start with the positives: Raven/Richards vs. The Pitbulls is an absolutely essential ECW match. As are matches representing the Cactus Jack-Sandman and Sabu-RVD feuds. Juvi vs. Rey is great, and Benoit/Malenko vs. Taz/Sabu is a nice early-ECW surprise.
Now the negatives: Douglas vs. Pitbull #2 lacked proper, or for that matter, any context. On it's own an ok match, however a highlights package (like that used for Sandman/Mikey/Austin) would have added greatly. Douglas was right in the middle of one of the greatest heel runs ever. At the very least Gary Wolfe's (Pitbull #1) pre-match promo discussing his injury, and some of the excellent Francine/Douglas promos mocking him should have been included. A single stand alone match simply doesn't do that great angle justice.
Secondly, (and I know this might sound nitpicking) Dreamer's music edited out after his match with Primetime took away much of the drama. I know about royalties and all, but hearing "Man in the Box" blaring as Tommy worked his way through the crowd was as cool as the match itself. Extreme Warfare remains the definative version.
