Rating: Summary: Great ppv Review: When this ppv first happened, I thought it was aweful. But I just bought it for some reason, thinking it would be good, and boy was it ever. Here are the matches:Kane, Booker T, Goldust, and Bubba Ray Dudley vs. The Un-Americans. This match was probably the worst on the DVD, but it was still pretty good. A bit sloppy, but what would u expect, 8 man tags are always sloppy. Booker T and all win with Kane nailing the Chokeslam. ** IC Title- Chris Jericho vs. Ric Flair. This match was actually pretty good. A few of Ric's old tricks were used by Jericho. Jericho fakes a leg injury, and when Flair turns his back, Jericho shows he faked it and locks on the Walls of Jericho for the win. *** Interpromotion Tag Team Match. Billy & Chuck vs. Rosey & Jamal. Pretty good match. Billy and Chuck wrestled this match like it was their last match together(which it was but...). After a good battle, Rosey and Jamal get the win. Edge vs. Eddie Guerrero. Probably the 2nd best match of the night. I think this was better than their Summerslam match. These two really put on a great match together, and should work together more often. Eddie gets the win thanks to a sunset flip off the second rope(after nailing Edge's head on the exposed post). **** World Title- Triple H vs. Rob Van Dam. This match was ok, nothing special in my view. RVD doesnt take control til the very end. Ric Flair shocks the world by nailing RVD with a sledgehammer, and helping HHH retain the title. ** Women's Title- Trish vs. Molly. Pretty good, I think even better than the World Title match. I never really cared about this fued, but they did a good job with their match. Trish wins with the Stratusfaction. **1/2 Kurt Angle vs. Chris Benoit. Stole the show, no questions asked. I don't know how these guys do it, but just about every time they wrestle at a ppv, they steal the show, which makes me never get tired of these two men, heels or faces. Benoit wins thanks to his foot on the ropes(aaawww!!). ***** WWE Undisputed Title- Brock Lesner vs. Undertaker. This fued was extremely personal. I'm a huge Taker fan, and this was probably Taker's most personal fued from what I remember. This match was just like ppl say: a brutal war. These two beat the heck out of each other, unfortunately causing a double DQ. But just to show how pissed off he was, before the show was over, Taker fought Brock up to the stage, and threw Brock right thru the Unforgiven set, and in my opinion, making Brock Lesner famous. ***1/2 Extras include 5 bonus interviews, Rey Mysterio vs. Chavo from Sunday Night Heat, Undertaker's Desire video, and promos of RVD and Chris Benoit. That is my opinion and review of this DVD. If ya asked everyone, they'd probably say rent this first, but me, I'd say go ahead and buy it.
Rating: Summary: Good event, that was faulted by the last two moments Review: WWE Unforgiven 2002 was a pretty good event. My two favorite matches were Edge vs. Eddie Guerrero and Kurt Angle vs. Chris Benoit. The two problems I had with the show were Lesnar vs. Taker which was a bad and boring match. And The HLA that ended with nasty old Rikishi giving Bischoff the stink face.
Rating: Summary: Very Underrated PPV!!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: WWE Unforgiven 2002 was a solid PPV, although a lot of people will disagree. I would actually give this PPV 3.5 stars instead of 4. This PPV was held in September 2002 from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. I will review and rank the matches. The matches are based out of 10 points. 1. KANE, BOOKER T, BUBBA RAY DUDLEY, & GOLDUST (VS) THE UN-AMERICANS (TEST, CHRISTIAN, LANCE STORM, & WILLIAM REGAL) This was a great eight man tag match and a very good way to kick off the show. It was a fast paced match in which we saw almost every wrestler use his finisher. The team of Kane, Booker T, Bubba Ray Dudley, and Goldust win it after Kane hits Lance Storm with a Chokeslam for the 1-2-3. (8/10) 2. CHRIS JERICHO (VS) RIC FLAIR (INTERCONTINENTAL) This was not a very good match, but it was needed for what would happen later on in the show with Flair. Jericho faked an injury which distracted Flair. This gave Jericho the opportunity to lock on the Walls Of Jericho and retain the title. (4/10) 3. EDDIE GUERRERO (VS) EDGE Very good match. This match was much better than their match at Summerslam. (Although, these two wrestlers No DQ/Ladder match the following Thursday on Smackdown was amazing). Nonetheless, this was a very fast paced and technical match filled with a lot of near falls. Guerrero picks up the win after hitting a Powerbomb on Edge off the top rope. Amazing move. (8.5/10) 4. ROSEY & JAMAL (VS) BILLY & CHUCK This was the only interpromotional match on the card. The stipulations were if Rosey & Jamal won, Stephanie would have to particpate in HLA, and if Billy & Chuck won, Bischoff would have to kiss Stephanie's behind. This match was a lot better than I thought it would be. The match is relatively short. Rosey and Jamal pick up the win. Stephanie is forced to participate in HLA later on in the show. (7/10) 5. TRIPLE H (VS) RVD (WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE) The two contrasting styles of these two competitors made for a pretty decent match. RVD looked like he was going to become new champ when Flair came out to attack Triple H. Right when it looked as though Flair was going to hit Triple H with the sledgehammer, Flair turned around at hit RVD in the ribs with the sledgehammer. Triple H applied the pedigree and covered RVD for the 1-2-3 to retain the title. (8/10) 6. TRISH STRATUS (VS) MOLLY HOLLY (WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP) I don't remember this match. Trish wins the belt after connectin on the Stratusfaction. (2/10) 7. CHRIS BENOIT (VS) KURT ANGLE This match definately stole the show. This match is a technical classic. Angle and Benoit have amazing chemistry in their matches that cannont be matched by anybody else. Great match. It is very fast paced with counter after counter. The crowd was on the edge of their seats for this match. It was very interesting because at the time both men were heels. The only problem about this match was the finish. Benoit picked up the 1-2-3, using the ropes for leverage. This match was not as good as their match at Royal Rumble 2003, but it was nonetheless an amazing match. (9.5/10) 8. BROCK LESNAR (VS) UNDERTAKER (WWE CHAMPIONSHIP) This match ended up being a lot better than I originally thought it would be. There was a lot of intensity from both competitors in this match. The match ended horribly after the ref called the match a No-Contest because Lesnar and the Undertaker kept battling each other after warnings from the ref. It is pretty cool to see how much abuse Brian Hebner takes in this match. He gets tossed around. There is a lot of action after the match. The Undertaker gives Lesnar one of the biggest chair shots to the head that you will ever see. The show closes as Undertaker throws Lesnar through the video screen. (8/10) EXTRAS Nothing too spectacular. The Sunday Night Heat match between Rey Mysterio and Chavo Guerrero is included. It is a decent match. There is cool Desire video for the Undertaker which features the theme song of Unforgiven, "Adrenaline." At first I did not like Unforgiven, but after watching it a second time it was actually pretty decent. It wasn't one of the better PPV's of the year, but it is still pretty good. I recommend buying this DVD especially for the Angle and Benoit match.
